This was the yummiest iced coffee in the world! Why?? Because the sweet lady in front of me in the drive-thru paid for my coffee and my kids breakfast. The McDonald’s cashier said “she paid for your order and said happy holidays” so I paid it forward and got the lady behind me. Small little gestures like that can really solve a lot of our societies bigger problems. Again, thank you kind stranger for an amazing iced coffee that tasted sweet without the sugar due to your act or kindness. Happy holidays everyone!! Oh and P.S. for those wondering ...I’m up to 46 full push-ups in a row and 6 strict pull-ups ...😁😁😁#ketofamily#actofkindness#holidayspirit#strongercommunities#kindness#happythanksgiving#thanksgiving2017

You Lord, are my God. I'm so blessed that I can't tell it all. What a mighty God we serve. He said he will never leave me nor emotionally abandon me. Throughout my life has been repeated abuse physically, sprirtually, emotionally, mentally and financially. It had at one time damaged my soul that's why I wrote my memoir Damaged Goods:My Journey which you can read and soon to be on audio on Amazon. Get your copy and leave a review. God took all of my broken pieces and put me back together again. Internal pain is the longest to heal when it has a root that has to be taken up/out. I thank God for doing surgery and placing the right people in my path to show me that all people are NOT against me. God sent some special angels to help restore my life and that's why I'm an advocate and a frontline Community Health Worker to bring back the heartbeat of our traumatized community. I know that God took my pain and turned it to his purpose. The devil can get no glory with any trap that was set to destroy me God gave me a way to escape. I'm starting with the City of St. Louis it's time to resuscitate the community that once thrived on it's own. I'm not asking for permission because I know that I'm on a mission setup by God. You Lord, are my God and these are your people. Have your way and let your will be done in us and through us. Selah! #StayFocused#Godsprotection#GodsFavor#strongerfamilies#strongercommunities#communityhealthworkerstl#BoardofLeaders#reentry#socialjustice#PublicHealth#STLcoalitionofCHW#stlouis#restoration#rebuild#empowermentspeaker
The novelty cheque got a workout last week to deliver Stronger Community Programme grants to Caves Beach Primary School P&C, Swansea-Belmont SLSC, and Swansea Community Cottage.
The grants went towards diverse projects; a barbie area for the school, a new set of patio furniture for the surf club, and a COLA shelter for the play area of the community cottage. #strongercommunities#shortland#labor#community#alp
From the outset, this small business said YES.
We said YES to moving to Corowa and YES to giving back to the community whatever and however we can.
You, our clients and friends, have overwhelmingly and consistently said YES - YES to us being here and YES to who we are.
Even though ours was the only window on the street that displayed a marriage equality poster, the electorate in which our office sits has said YES - a reflection of how times have changed. Farrer voted for equality.
From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you. This decision, made by the majority of Australians, means that we can continue to hold our heads high, be and do the best we can to build a better community - for everyone.✌️❤️😉
The San Remo Men's Shed opened their new George Collie extension today. It's great to see federal, state and community funding come together - particular kudos goes to the Shed for sizzling countless sausage sandwiches in a bid to raise money. #mensshed#strongercommunities#shortland#all#labor#community

When one of the student-led business ideas is making pillows for children who may not have any. HEART EXPLOSION. And as it comes closer to such a tough time of year for some, I am talking to my class daily about how we can give back to the community over Christmas. I can feel some epic projects brewing.
I just love learning that this 10 year old is better at sewing than me. Just had a LESSON IDEA!!! 💡💡

We are pleased to welcome Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson to the 2017 #HousingCentral Conference!
Robertson is a longtime advocate for affordable housing, from calling on the federal and provincial governments for help in tackling the crisis, to introducing a rental incentive program and empty homes tax, creating an affordable housing agency for the city and, most recently, providing city land at a nominal rate to the Community Land Trust for affordable housing. But Robertson also acknowledges the city has a long way to go and that solutions to the affordable housing crisis will take many hands working in collaboration on innovative solutions.
Hear Robertson speak at the conference on Monday, November 20 during the morning plenary.
