I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. - MLK

Warming up is not stretching. Sorry! It is not!⠀
Warming up is activating your muscles before an activity. ***Come to the studio ten minutes before your class with a flex band and try this routine to improve your flex and pointe range of motion. ⠀
***You will notice the benefits on your pliés, your jumps and your pointe work. So it is recommended for both male and female dancers⠀
***Forget about pointing your foot into the band. We all did it but it doesn't bring much value. Don’t waste your time. Your ankle needs more flex work and there are better exercises to strengthen your toes.⠀
It's the weekend: time to add some diversity! Do you lift?⠀
*** Lifting weights won't make you bulk up. To get The Rock's body you need to lift heavy on short sets. ⠀
*** To keep lean muscles, stick to lower weights (that 4kgs for biceps curls, not 1kg) on longer sets of around 12-20 reps.⠀
Enroll in a gym, get the help of a coach and enjoy doing something different. You can try anything: jogging, cycling like @cyril_chok, pilates like @biscuitballerina, crossfit or whatever you feel like today! ⠀
Happy Friday! 💗
I really enjoyed my first day back in ballet training 💕 I can’t wait to keep working hard & getting better.
The first week of the Spring term has also been great. It’s good to be back in the studio every day, learning new techniques. Back to theory modules on Monday- things are going to get very full-on next week!

Where to sew your pointe shoes ribbons? That is the question!⠀
There are many theories and many tutorials available online. We recommend to sew you ribbons based on the anatomy of your foot. This little video explains to you why we prefer this location to sew your ribbon. It may not look great but it is meant to reduce the risk of ankle twist so you might want to get invisible ribbons or elastic.⠀
Happy Thursday friends! 😘 I’m absolutely LOVING my @stretchitoutstretchladder!! ❤️❤️I bring it everywhere with me! My ladder STAYS in the car because you never know when you’re going to need to stretch!!

Your relevés really happen at the ankle joint, not at your arch. A high arch looks fantastic but it is not as important as strong and mobile ankles. ⠀
At your next barre, try to feel your heel bone (calcaneus) and the front of your ankle (talus) bone. You will fell how they move and allow you to perform a really high relevé without impingement at the back of your ankle. ⠀
Yes, yes, we know you got used to that impingement feeling but it is not normal....⠀
