Never let a stumble in the road be the end of your journey....learn to get back on track and GET USED TO IT. Just another night in the gym tryin’ to get strong! I’m actually really loving all the higher rep and accessory work right now. Sure, it’s not as exciting as heavy singles, but it’s super important, and it’s teaching me to be patient with myself so that when it is time to hit singles in the spring, I KNOW I’ll be stronger.
This workout was:
▪️Paused, beltless low-bar triples @205. Not beltless to be cool, but beltless because no one’s got time to change where their belt lever is once a month 😂 #FemaleLifterProbs
▪️All the high-bar reps at 175. Now my quads are sore af and I have no idea how I used to only squat this way!
▪️Deficit deadlifts at 225 (this was my third set and I hit 10). These felt awesome and deadlifts are probably the lift I’m most proud of because they’ve come SO FAR since the beginning of prepping for my meet (aka when I struggled to pull 225 for 5 or 275 for 1)
▪️Not shown accessories: leg press, leg extensions, GHR, back extension, and lots of hamstring curls aka death

So at the beginning of this year I didn’t even know what Gymshark was shocking I know haha 💁🏼♀️😭
My boyfriend just came home one day from work and said a few of the girls who trained at the gym wore the gymshark leggings and I should have a look on the site, so there it began I browsed the site and was like wow I need myself some of these leggings the flex ones of course but to my dismay every single colour was out of stock I was gutted because the contouring looked so good and I really wanted a pair so I checked every single week and it was nearly a month later when I got some finally!
But I actually can’t believe how much money I’ve spent on Gymshark this year but it’s more than definitely been worth it because their gym wear is gorgeous and if you look good and your new gym clothes make you feel good too you are always going to have a good session in the gym and feel confident AF!

STICK. TO. THE. PLAN.
These words were being yelled at me from the sideline by @luke_olocadventures because I go into every workout with a very solid plan. It’s when you try to deviate from it, to search for a better way that things tend to turn to shit.
These words are what goes through my head most days.
But it’s hard to stick to a plan if you don’t have one to start with. If you flip flop all over the place searching, guessing, never really knowing.
Step 1. Have a plan
Step 2. Stick to it
Step 3. Enjoy yourself 😉
I’m going to open up a little here😱The truth is that it’s taken me a while to ACTUALLY, for real say: strong is beautiful💆🏻♀️
In my years as a weight lifter, I have endured a lot of negative comments relating to my body and my fitness: she is too muscular, too skinny, lifting is for men, she doesn’t eat, she doesn’t have a life, her arms are too big, her legs are too big, she looks unfeminine. The list goes on. And I must confess, that at times I stumbled with these comments and doubted my own love for lifting and my own physical appearance. Maybe my legs are too big? Maybe I am threatening because I am strong and I breathe like a horse when I squat. Do I look nice in a dress?🧟♀️🧟♂️
I had to come full circle on this personal dilemma, finally realizing that I lift because it makes me happy, because I love feeling that my body is strong, because I love the size of my quads, and I love the power and personal pleasure of a good lift. Lifting has made me a better person, confident, disciplined, muscular and strong - and honestly I feel I can rock a nice dress too👗 I hella rock it👠
I love strong because of what it has made me…. and I can truthfully say: STRONG IS BEAUTIFUL🧚🏾♀️🧚🏽♀️
Ironically this is also from the other day, today was a rest day. But I did #chestday and ended up with a pretty decent arm pump. I was doing lower reps (I did like 8-6-4 unintentionally but it worked out well) for my bench presses just because I’m not trying to build volume on my chest lol. It’s been really rough #depression wise, I’m not really sure why because stress wise nothing has really changed? Maybe it’s holiday blues idk. We bought Christmas lights that we intend to decorate the apartment which so hopefully I’ll feel a little more festive soon. Christmas is like 10 days away. I do have some good news, I landed a job at a #mmj clinic, I’m just waiting on paperwork to come back before I can start training. I’m super excited because I never dreams I’d make it into the cannabis industry but well, here I am. Did a couple of hundred sets of triples at 130kg before I went for a comfortable set of thirteen just to feel that I’m alive. Post meet existensial crisis is real. Like, who am I even. Why am I doing this. What IS my tru purpose...🙄
Anyway. Body feels good but a little stiff, some reps were high, some low. Considering these shoes but I dunno... I think I prefer the ankle stability from my old ones.
