Tony and I have been working our butts off lately, as we build our second barber shop... even though the operation is pretty simple, once everything is in place - getting a business of the ground is pretty time consuming - but we're happy.. and we're excited, and that's about it ❤️✌🏻#happytuesdayeveryone#heresapictureofmynewshelves#haha
He was so unsure of the sand for the first fifteen minutes. He kept hurrying to the edge, dipping his toe in the grains and then he would squeal and run to the opposite edge. He did this on repeat until he decided it was worth it to brave the unknown. 😂
Three things have been saving my butt this trip. Super B ✔️ Nitro ✔️ and this boo.
Honestly - this trip to Hawaii has been SO packed and full and exciting. I'm one of those people that can't switch my brain off if I'm super excited or happy (which is every night here). But I roll this on my wrists, bottoms of my feet and the back of my neck right before I crawl into that big, fluffy hotel bed and it's all 😴😴😴 for me.
SO good! If you like sleep - getcha some! 👊🏻
In the eyes of toddlers everything is beautiful. Why do we hold on to anger, hold grudges and express such hatred around? I'm teaching Lucas (and Iris) to accept everyone for their faults and to love everyone and be kind. I'm gonna take my own advice and do it myself. Life's too short and I am going to love everyone as much as Lucas loved this rock.
In case you're wondering what a very MILD kitchen renovation looks like... this is it. Real life. The fridge pushed up against the dining room table. No access to the sink, which means the microwave that's still useable can't be used because that would create dishes which can't be rinsed. Frequently used items on the table... lunch boxes, grab and go breakfast stuff, homework folders. Dog bowls under the chairs with yesterday's cross country jersey. Most of our floors are masked off. And our garage is quite the sight as well! Swipe left for that... Looks like a full blown Dexter room! 😂
All joking aside, I'm very grateful that we are getting this much-needed update done. And I'm very grateful at the amount of overwhelm I'm currently feeling. I couldn't imagine hiring out a project like this and feeling underwhelmed... in an "I could have done that!" sort of way. Because these guys are truly impressive to watch, and I definitely couldn't do any of this myself! I can't wait for the finished product and I'll be sure to post some before and after photos.
Portraits! Wow! I somehow had fallen into this hole of, "everything is candid and unposed in my work" blah! I'm not sure why I want to compartmentalize myself, well I guess I do. It comes from my greater sense of wanting belonging and needing to fit in and defining myself. I'm trying to just capture what speaks to me. That's it. One of my favorites portrait masters is @devonhallphotoarts, her work just blows me away. Go give her some love if you can. Also I couldn't chose between color or black and white. So here are both. Capturing her soft expression is a win for me.
4/100 It's been a while since I've posted - playing catch up although shooting daily. I've been with family and thinking a lot about cherishing our time together and making more time for each other. We get busy with our daily lives. Sometimes it's good to step back and give each other a hug. #100daysoflight#100daysof10
