Some things I never realized until the past few months:
Sunny likes meat. We've always fed the dogs chicken, predominantly, so when she stopped eating and I started trying different foods, I got beef, venison, kangaroo, lamb. I tried anything to get her to eat. (Kangaroo was rejected outright, which kinda made me happy because I felt like I was singlehandedly killing a favorite animal. Don't get me started on lamb...)
And while doing that, I also noticed that she is a fan of novelty - give her the same thing twice, and she'll likely turn up her nose.
She is also not a fan of bowls. And while that makes dinner messier, I just make sure I have paper towels under her plate.
Tonight's menu is Dave's Turkey and Bacon. Normally, I don't put the whole can on her plate - she never eats a whole can of anything - but I thought she might like more of this new food.
Thus far, it's a winner and she ate about 3/4 of the can. We have given up on kibble entirely. I think that's okay at this point in her life. I'm hoping we see 15 in November, given her bladder cancer.
P.S. There's a certain Jakey, I think might like Dave's Turkey and Bacon.
