Had an amazing day at Supanova as Eleven (and Dustin) from Stranger Things! Incredibly starstruck and grateful to have met the most kindest, funniest, most gorgeous and down to earth girl ever. Millie, you are truly an inspiration to many people including me. Love ya and thanks for coming to RADelaide ❤️🇦🇺 #supanova2017#supanovaadelaide#milliebobbybrown
We were tagged by @crozdogs_cosplays to do a character vs cosplay post and we thought it would be a swell way to wrap up Superhero Sunday! Emma has chosen her amazing Spider-Gwen and Lauren chose X-men Evolution Rogue. We had a blast as these characters this year and I can tell you all now, you haven't seen the last of them! ❤💚 We tag @odinbreit
@bastionstclair and and I have had an absolute blast this year cosplaying more than ever. It's been record breaking con attendance for us and we've met so many new, kind and creative fellow cosplayers. Special shout outs to @steamkittens for the fantastic photo featured in our top 3, @crozdogs_cosplays for his Archie , @est1990.cosplay for their amazing Peggy and the mighty @thorofoz who is always willing to cameo with our cosplays. The most monumental thanks to all our new followers and friends who are supporting us on this adventure. We can't wait to see what everyone brings to the con floor next year! ❤❤
REPOSTING FROM FACEBOOK 😊🎉 So as many of you already know.. I’ve been working my butt off this year. I’ve made over 20 costumes and props (for myself and others, compared to 1-2 previous years), have had commissions open as well as selling on my Etsy, attended every costume/Cosplay convention Adelaide has to offer, and have put together a huge costume/prop portfolio of all of my recent and past projects. All while working full time hours in hospitality.
Recently I went over to Melbourne for an interview for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Production (this is a very competitive course who only take around 40 people each year) and today I can proudly say that I have been accepted for 2018!! 😊😊 I actually can’t believe I’ll be studying Costume Design/Production next year in Melbourne 😭😭😱😱😍 It feels so surreal, I’m so excited to be moving towards my dream!
I’ve been soooo busy this year, it’s been extremely exhausting and I’m sorry if I missed any of your events or birthdays.
Thank you to all my family and friends that have been extremely supportive this year. Thank you for everyone who wished me luck when I was waiting to hear my results and all the wishes I’ve already received for my future ❤️ Actually S C R E A M I N G inside!
I love you all 🤗🎉
Photo of my Trag'oul's Avatar Necromancer from #supanova2017 in #adelaide taken by the amazing @steamkittens who was the official cosplay photographer for the event. A very smart move, his work is flawless.
This cosplay caused a fair amount of stress for me, as most of it had to be constructed in the time my husband was very briefly home from deployments. This was mainly because my nearly 2 year old son required attention 100% of the time, and he is terrified of the sound of the heat gun. Most of it came into being in the two weeks before the convention. I'm not Jessica Nigri, I am a rookie. I can't turn out a cosplay in a week. One day maybe.
I made the decision to enter my first cosplay competition with a honest hopes. As it neared competition day I was frustrated with the quality of work I was producing, knowing it would not be winner worthy. Then I realised I forgot why I was doing this. I wasn't doing making the cosplay to be a winner. I was making this cosplay to be a bad as necromancer as I strode on stage to strut my stuff. The only person I had anything to prove to was the most important - me.
The day of the convention rocked around and the velcro straps of my breastplate at the sides ended up being too short to move with me as walk. So my spine ended up flapping around a bit as I walked and I was aware of it all damn day. Despite that I had more than a few people come up to me and say "Hey that's the blood set from diablo 3 right?!". It was what I aimed for and what I achieved. I couldn't have asked for more than that. Is there future things to change? Absolutely. That's part of the process of learning.
