Today a beautiful news 🖤. Gucci has announced that it is to go #furfree as the material is no longer "modern". Better late than never. Fur shouldn't yet have been fashionable after the war with the arrival of new warm materials. Instead, in the last 50 years , fashion industry has implemented this evil market that nowadays is estimated to be worth $40BILLION a year and 20 MILLIONS of killed animals 😪. Finally, a leading brand as #Gucci ( after 8 years of negotiation with the Humane Society of the United States) will stop to support this abominable practice in 2018. Until last year they used #fur to beautify ( de gustibus) the plan of the slippers. Let's hope that this decision could be an example for other huge brands. Well done 💥🙏🏾. #fuckyofur#stop#supportanimalrights#supportallthelives
I do not just #supportanimalrights i do support the right of life of every living being. We all deserve a life of freedom, joy and happiness! So do our nonhuman brothers and sisters ✊🏽💚#weareallearthlings
“The assumption that animals are without rights and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality.”
This quote... show your support and wear this tee!
Look out for the Leaping Bunny 🐇 - the international gold standard certification for non-animal tested products.
Do you know how many things you use daily that are produced by companies that allow animal testing? It's a lot more than you think. I was shocked when I researched it. Did you know all mainstream supermarket toothpastes brands are not cruelty-free? Most high street make-up brands allow their products to be tested on animals.
As a former employee at @thebodyshop I have always been mindful of where I buy my make-up from. But many other items - household, skincare, cosmetics etc, that we use on a daily basis also contain ingredients which have to go through testing before human use.
Sadly, majority of mainstream brands are not cruelty free 🙁 (although an EU law was implemented in 2013 that made it illegal to sell animal tested products in Europe, this does not mean brands you buy in Europe are cruelty free. If they sell their products globally - specifically China, where animal testing is required by law, then they are still participating in the continuation of animal testing, even if they are not carrying it out directly themselves).
Animal testing is NOT compulsory or necessary to ensure safety for human use, and the manner in which these tests are carried out is truly horrifying and utterly barbaric.
The law introduced a few years back was of course a hugely positive step for Europe as a stand against animal testing, but I think it has led to a lot of naivety and misconception about what 100% cruelty free brands are. So this will be the first of many posts to raise awareness, and hopefully encourage people to reevaluate their brand choices.
I'm going cruelty free, I hope you will join me and stand up for animal welfare 🐕🐩🐈🐇🐁🐀
