THE GOOD PART OF KNOWING #WHOMADEOURCLOTHES IS THAT IT ALLOW AS TO PUT A FACE TO THAT WORKING HANDS. A FACE AND A LIFE STORY. BECAUSE BEHIND EVERY GARMENT, THERE ARE NOT ONLY COMPANIES MAKING PROFIT, BUT ALSO AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HANDS, FACES, NAMES, LIFES.

Hello, it's fashion revolution week and I would like to tell you little bit about myself. I'm a sewer for an organic clothing brand, Lovjoi. My name is Khaled Barkel, I am 30 years old and I came to Germany as a refugee from Syria. I had my own factory in Syria, but lost everything by way of the war. I now have a safe home in Germany... and thanks to Lovjoi, the opportunity to work within my own profession. I can proudly tell you that I MADE YOUR CLOTHES in Lovjoi's own production facility, in Southern Germany. In support of fair labor rights, my message is that all workers deserve a fair and livable wage. We can only change the fashion industry if we focus together, on the good.
Be proud of the clothes you buy and wear.

Meet Eskedar. She is a new mom in our program. Her face lit up as she showed me how she spins cotton. She also weaves beautiful baskets. Unfortunately, the smile didn't last. Our doctor performed a physical examination on her after we discussed worrisome symptoms. She has PID. It became clear to us that she had been sexually assaulted. I wanted to cry. She seemed so full of shame for something she had no control of. She has had such a hard life. She is blind in one eye, has been on her own most of her life. For years she lived outside a church with her children begging. She now has temporary housing. She dreams of changing her life. Due to her extreme physical and emotional needs we are seeking a year commitment to sponsor her at $60 a month. Please help us deliver hope to this precious momma #strongwomen#bemm#becauseeverymothermatters#howdoyoulive#sustaible#ethiopia#humanity
We got to meet this sweet 20 year old momma to two. Even though Asefu has been waiting 6 for sponsorship she has not given up hope and hard work. When we accept a new mom into the program we always give a one time half months sponsorship $25. I tell her I hope she is able to start a business while she waits for a sponsor and through her hard work and faith it will continue to multiple. She immediately started a grain business. Although, it's still very small, she has managed to keep it going 6 months. I would love to see what she could do with a full sponsorship. #strongwomen#bemm#becauseeverymothermatters#howdoyoulive#sustaible
Working WITH people through education, empowerment, etc. is the model set way back thousands of years ago by the apostle Paul. He lived with the people, presented the Gospel, helped edtablish churches and then left for other areas that God called him to. After leaving he continued to be involved with those churches-visiting and encouraging them through letters. We as a ministy do our best to follow that model/example. Absolutely love the underwater statues of Jason deCaires Taylor! His work is designed to act as artificial reefs and rejuvenate underwater nature. Thank you @luxandeco for sharing this awesome project!
George Marshall in the quiet of Fitzroys Edinburgh Gardens preparing for his workshop later today at which he will explore the reasons why people can't, and don't think about climate change.
George, a climate change communication expert, is visiting Australia to promote his book, "Don't even talk about it: Why we are wired to ignore climate change@, and speak at the Sustainable Living Festival. His visit has been coordinated by Psychology for Safe Climate.
Beautiful epic failure of a breakfast smoothie this morning- I soaked my chia seeds in coconut water so they were not as gelatinous as usual, but they were delicious! I then blended frozen mixed berries, with frozen mango, mundella Greek yoghurt & Blendco skin blend & sprinkled my smoothie with strawberries and bee pollen... That skin blend is the killer sneaky ingredient... Would love to win this #ceresorganics giveaway to add more to my smoothies😆 @ceresorganics @organichappiness #cleaneating#breakfast#smoothie#wholefoods#wellbeing#local#sustaible#accesssustainability#sustainme
What i thought was going to be one of my more difficult plants to grow has proved to be the best behaved! This is my second big red strawberry, and it looks like there's many more to come!! My lavender, mint, coriander and radishes seem to also be flourishing, but for some reason I cannot get my parsley to grow 😿 Oh well, can't expect to get it all right the first time. But for now I'm going to throw this whopping strawberry into my breakfast (late, I know, but Monday for me is like Saturday!) and get gardening with my new sunflower, basil, peas & Rosemary seedlings that I picked up on Saturday from the @littleveggiepatchco at the @finders_keepers market in Melbourne 🌻🌿🍓😍 #strawberry#homegarden#veggiepatch#littleveggiepatchco#finderkeepers#melbourne#knowyourfarmer#nowaste#spring#sustaible#accesssustainability#sustainme
