So that's me out of action for a considerable amount of time.
No jiu-jitsu with @marcelomeleiro at @meleiro_bjj, no judo at @lbjudodojo and no Crossfit at @crossfit_reality. I'm officially broken and I don't know how long it will be before I'm fixed.
To quote the doctor, I "worked my way into a hospital bed", by pushing too hard for too long and not resting when I'm supposed to. I need to allow this Cervical Radiculopathy to heal, as right now it hurts to even hold a cup of tea.
I'll still honor my commitments for work as best as I can, but dammit, trust me when I tell you that this hurts like hell.
And no, "stretching" doesn't help. This is just a matter of waiting it out.

We are often asked how much work goes into planning our events. Well, every body movement, challenge, weighted carry or otherwise is "beta tested" to see if they are feasible. Not everything that is tested is used, as some tasks, when tested out, are deemed unsuitable.
Recently, our friend and Krypteia "Cookie" @666cookie666 pushed himself a little too hard and found himself in hospital during an event. After an EKG and some other tests, it was discovered that he had herniated disks in his spine and the thick, jelly-like substance between the bones (nucleus pulposus) had leaked out. This in turn pressed on his nervous system and is currently causing him huge pain in his shoulders, back and arm. He's been diagnosed with Cervical Radiculopathy. He's now been told to rest and get through the course of medication prescribed to him and should be on the mend too. Be sure to wish him well, as he's an important member of our team.

Had a killerrr leg day today. Like "legs so dead my knees are buckling when I walk" killer 😂 unfortunately I didn't record any of the new sets I tried out today, but I forsure will next time I hit them! •
Here's another stable exercise from the other day that I like to incorporate at the end of some of my leg/booty days. It works some of everything! But especially glutes and abductors if you focus on driving the weight through your heal. 1️⃣ leg in front of body 2️⃣ leg crossed over body. • Try for pretty heavy resistance. Keep your back straight for these. If you can't, then you should lower the weight. Better form and lighter weight is ALWAYS better than heavier weight and bad form :)
