The first new make of 2018 is complete! I've just finished this fabulous easy Heartbeat sweater designed by @storeymartin in lush @rowanyarns Big Wool. Sadly I have to wait til next month to actually wear it as it's going in the window of @emporiafabricandcraft this afternoon. Roll on February! (confession time - I had to go and put on a full face of makeup to take this pic as I looked dreadfully pale and with tiny eyes in the first few shots. 😶)
How amazing is this sweater by @laerkebagger?! I have several sets of knitting needles, bags of wool and bamboo yarn, and two basic stitches in my repertoire. I am really trying to shed all of my limiting thoughts, beliefs, and self-talk in 2018 (thanks to my #powersheets ). Considering all of that, I am still pretty sure I don't have what it takes to knit something like this! I don't want to be the jack of all trades, master of none. Really considering letting go of my collection and sticking to what I know best! But also REALLY wanting this sweater in my closet! 😍
Where are all my knitters at? Could you knit this? How long would it take you? How many skeins do you think the pattern calls for? What would you charge me if I begged you to make it for me?! 😆 But seriously...
2017 Recap: I went to the TNNA summer trade show for the first time this year, where Road to Giza made its debut in the @shalimaryarns booth! While the looooong drive to Ohio wasn’t my favorite, the show was great—amazing to meet so many designers and yarnies in person!
(If you want to grab your own copy of Road to Giza, click the link in my bio—and then join us for the Selfish KAL, kicking off tomorrow!)

Cozy up this weekend to Ommegang, a design by @theacolman that takes full advantage of the great stitch definitions of some of our favorite DK weight yarns (Stone Soup DK and Kent DK)! This beautiful pullover features twisting cables on a field of stockinette, topped by a cozy fold-over turtle that has just the right amount of drape. This is exactly the kind of sweater we're dreaming of pulling on today... brrr!
