💥Foods that Might Make you Feel Bloated💥
🍦I was chatting to one of my online coaching clients the other day about her feeling bloated and why this may be. Now bloating is normally a temporary thing that will go away. It certainly doesn’t mean you’re getting fat 🙄 There are many reasons for feeling bloated; food related and non-food related. In this post I’m going to look at certain foods that MIGHT (you see that? Might!) make you feel bloated .
🍪It’s quite common to see foods, such as, dairy, refined sugars and refined grains (like gluten) be top of the list. Artificial sweeteners can also have a bloating effect. The reason why I put a picture of a protein bar is because, despite being considered a ‘healthy’ snack, these are often full of sweeteners, sugar alcohols and poor quality protein (usually soy)
🥦Interesting is that some vegetables high in sulfur, like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower can cause bloating and gas in some people. Carbonated drinks sounds obvious too, especially when combined with artificial sweeteners. Undigested protein (or poor quality protein) can also play havoc in the gut, despite having loads of benefits. Eat slower!
🤔So how can you tell what is causing you to bloat? It’s difficult, I get it. Be aware of what you’re eating and write down how you feel after each meal. If there’s a particular meal that caused an issue, look at the individual components of said meal. Next time remove 1 or 2 and see how you feel. Basically, it’s a lot of trial and error and being in tune with your body 👍

Mungkinkah orang terkena diabetes bila terlalu banyak makan gula?
Let's not blow things out of proportion.
Instead, let's nerd out! 🤓

This is the first vegan honey I've tried and it is FANTASTIC. Particularly on toast with peanut butter. The cold has made it crystalise which I have to say does add to the honey effect. Thank you @coconutmerchant. I found this on @ocadouk btw.
One major benefit of #carob as a chocolate substitute is that, unlike cocoa, carob contains no caffeine or theobromine.⠀
To replace cocoa for carob - simply use the same amount of carob 1:1. To replace chocolate with carob, use approximately three tablespoons of carob powder for each square of chocolate that the recipe calls for. Carob can also be used as a sugar replacement or as a natural #sweetener .⠀
Use carob when you seek a subtle chocolate taste, stir it into oatmeal or add it to homemade smoothies.⠀
Thank you to @crowdtap and @splenda for allowing me to sample Splenda Naturals Sugar & Stevia Sweetener Blend. I’m not one for artificial sweeteners but because this one is a sugar/stevia blend it’s not too bad! Excited to try this as a sugar substitute in one of my holiday recipes!
Tohle je teď taková moje častá svačinka. Fazolový koláček s ořechovým máslem a marmeládou. Pravou marmeládou, domácí. S cukrem. Zajímá mě Vás pohled na umělá sladidla, dochucovadla a ochucovadla. A pak třeba i stévii. Používáte? Často? Proč? Děkuji moc za odpověď! Chtěla bych se více rozepsat o mém pohledu. Mám? #snack#sugar#carbs#artificial#sweetener#friday
• O açúcar induz o estresse oxidativo no corpo. • O açúcar alimenta as células cancerígenas.
With a crazy busy day ahead I need a breakfast that's quick, easy and nutritious!! Avocado with a generous helping of kithul treacle it is 😋 Kithul is a natural sweetener derived from the palm tree. The sap of the tree is collected and boiled down to a dense dark brown syrup type liquid resembling honey. It is widely used in Sri Lankan cuisine. Most famous for being used as an accompaniment to curd, kithul features in many Sri Lankan puddings and has a taste that is completely unique to any other sweetener. The kithul is some times further boiled down and poured into coconut shell moulds to set and become what is known as Hakuru. This is a solid partially refined palm sugar. As a child I remember relishing chunks of Hakuru and nibbling away at pieces as if they were sweets. Back then, I used to have sugar in my tea and having Hakuru to nibble on between each sip was far more pleasurable to the palate 👌🏼 I hid this bottle in the cupboard as I was feeling far to selfish to share it 😂 I'm glad I did as now I'm able to enjoy it with my breakfast. Being derived from a plant, makes this the ideal vegan sweetener too 👍🏼🇱🇰
Minum manis boleh, diabetes jangan. Lalu, bagaimana caranya? Mulailah #HidupBaru dengan selalu bawa @nulifeid gula rendah kalori yang bisa kamu campur dalam minuman panas maupun dingin tanpa mengubah rasa. Kalau kamu lebih suka yang mana nih, Nu People?
I'm always on the lookout for Keto friendly sweeteners. It's a huge struggle for many to remove sweeteners all together or to learn what to look for. What I do is immediately go to the ingredients list NOT the carb count. The carb count will not tell you if this is a "good" alternative.
I post on this so much because it was my biggest struggle when I first started this work. Either it wasn't sweet enough, was bitter or they created cravings. I had to learn in order to find a happy medium for myself. I like sweet in my coffee and I like a sweet dessert every now and again. Sweeteners that go in my coffee are different than sweeteners that I cook or bake with.
While I'm not an "expert" on this I do have a lot of knowledge around sweeteners.
The only sweetener pictured here that I would even try would be the last one...NOT because it says "organic". The first two are absolutely NO WAY.
@legal_biz_edge is enjoying summer in Florida for a week and couldn’t resist taking a picture of this beautiful Agave plant. FAT ISN'T YOUR ENEMY, SUGAR IS.......
Terms like sugar high, sugar brain or sugar face sound innocent enough, but they certainly don't make you feel at the top your wellness game. If you're looking for an alternative to sugar that is all natural, vegan, antioxidant giving and doesn't have a concerning aftertaste then you've hit the jackpot!
Monk Fruit powder is here to replace sugar in pretty much every single way you'd use the latter but better.
Unlike no other, monk fruit's sweetness comes from naturally occurring antioxidants called 'mogrosides' and is renowned for its intense sweetness without the bitter aftertaste. Gluten Free Contains Antioxidants Natural & Vegan Monk fruit, also called Luo Han Guo or in Latin 'Siraitia grosvenorii' is a fruit native to China and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Morlife Monk Fruit Powder is vegan, gluten free and is the simply dried monk fruit juice (it is not an extract). Our Monk Fruit Powder has a subtle caramel undertone and is roughly 10 times sweeter than sugar, so a little goes a long way!

In early studies of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), it was shown to be most prevalent in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States and those in northern Europe.
However, in more recent studies, Canada has suddenly shot to the top of the list as the country with the highest incidence.
Could Widespread Consumption of Sucralose Explain Skyrocketing IBD Rates?
It’s worth noting here that IBD is different from another condition that sounds very similar, namely irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an autoimmune disease that can have very serious consequences, while IBS is a functional bowel disorder. Many IBD patients wind up having extensive sections of their colon removed.
A paper published in the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology theorizes that the increase in this troublesome disease may be related to the impairment of digestive proteases, caused by the inhibition of gut bacteria by dietary chemicals, such as saccharin and sucralose.
Saccharin fails to provide an explanation for the rise of IBD, as Canada adopted stringent standards for the use of saccharin in 1977 — but this is not the case for sucralose.
Sucralose may be the culprit … In 1991, Canada was the first country to approve the use of sucralose, and it was allowed to be used as a tabletop sweetener and an ingredient in many foods.
The theory that sucralose may be a culprit in the rise of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) appears to be a reasonable one, echoing the results from a 2008 study published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, which discovered it increases the pH level in your intestines, and reduces the amount of good bacteria in your intestines by 50 percent!
#Sucralose has a potent inhibitory effect on your gut bacteria and inactivates digestive protease. It also alters gut barrier function.
It is a chlorinated artificial #sweetener in line with #aspartame and saccharin. It could easily be likened to eating an insecticide… #uglybynature
Looking for sugar replacement? Please do a bit of research on the following ingredients: Saccharine, Aspartame and Sucralose. These happen to be the active ingredients in the most popular artificial sweeteners commercially available. Then compare it with Stevia and make your choice. Remember, always read your labels! #natural#gmofree#sweetener#diabetes#weightloss#itsallgoodep#thegreeningredient
What do these things all have in common?? If you said Dextrose you are right!! For a long while I didn't even bother finding out about sweeteners because I just assumed the norm, " bad for you, but still won't effect your body/ blood sugars more than sugar".... but that's actually waaay off! Far from the truth!
If you look back about a month I posted a quick reference sheet for sweeteners and their GI (glycemic index, see previous post explaining what GI is) turns out that the number one ingredient even before the advertised Sucralose(0 GI) is DEXTROSE! With a whooping 100 GI. The second ingredient on Twin and Splenda was Maltodextrin, with a GI of 110, more than table sugar!!
So what does this mean for you? .
It just means to be more careful to read the labels, and BE WEARY OF FALSE ADVERTISING! Cause it's totally out there!
If you are on keto having a hard time getting into ketosis sweeteners could be your problem! 🤷🏻♀️ try opting for lower GI, healthier sweeteners such as Munk Fruit! Which even comes in little individualizes packets for on the go! .
Anyways just a thought! Something I wish I would have known a long time ago! 🤗🤗 the end! .
