#MidWeekMeatTip : Achieving perfectly baked chicken!
The simple secret is using #Parchment !
Chicken breast is such a lean cut that it can be tricky to cook without it turning out dry and tasteless.
But a single piece of parchment paper placed over the chicken before going into the oven acts almost like the chicken's missing skin, protecting it and preventing it from drying out.
Mangos taste so good that people forget they are also healthy!
Health Benefits ✌️😋👇 1. Prevents Cancer:
Research has shown antioxidant compounds in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers. These compounds include quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat, as well as the abundant enzymes.
2. Lowers Cholesterol:
The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff). 3. Clears the Skin:
Can be used both internally and externally for the skin. Mangos help clear clogged pores and eliminate pimples.
4. Improves Eye Health:
One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A, which promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes.
5. Alkalizes the Whole Body:
The tartaric acid, malic acid, and a trace of citric acid found in the fruit help to maintain the alkali reserve of the body.
6. May Help with Diabetes:
Mango leaves help normalize insulin levels in the blood. The traditional home remedy involves boiling leaves in water, soaking through the night and then consuming the filtered decoction in the morning. Mango fruit also has a relatively low glycemic index (41-60) so moderate quantities will not spike your sugar levels.
7. Promotes Healthy Sex:
Mangos are a great source of vitamin E. Even though the popular connection between sex drive and vitamin E was originally created by a mistaken generalization on rat studies, further research has shown balanced proper amounts (from whole foods) does help.
8. Improves Digestion:
Papayas are not the only fruit that contain enzymes for breaking down protein. There are several fruits, including mangoes, which have this healthful quality. The fiber in mangos also helps digestion and elimination.
9. Helps Fight Heat Stroke:
Juicing the fruit from green mango and mixing with water and a sweetener helps to cool down the body and prevent harm from overheating. From an ayurvedic viewpoint, the reason people often get diuretic and exhausted when visiting equatorial climates is because the strong “sun
7 HEALTH BENEFITS OF RED ONIONS!
1. Improved Immunity
The photochemical in onions aid the function of vitamin C hence help to improve the body’s ability to fight infections. This is important in boosting the body’s immunity.
2. Blood sugar control
Onions play a very important role in blood sugar regulation owing to the fact that they contain a mineral component known as chromium.
3. Fighting Inflammation
Red onions have since time immemorial been used to treat inflammations and infections as well.
4. Healthy heart
Raw slices of red onions are actually good for your heart. This is because they encourage production of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) which minimizes risk of heart diseases like heart attack and stroke. Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) on the other hand leads to heart problems due to cholesterol levels in the arteries which triggers the so called Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs). 5. Cancer prevention
Red onions are important in the war against cancer. This is because they contain a powerful chemical known as quercetin. Quercetin belongs to a group of plant pigments known as flavonoids. It is responsible for giving onions their red color. Quercetin’s role is to inhibit the growth of cancer cells ranging from breast, colon, and prostate to ovarian cancer. It has been shown through research that intake of quercitin lowers risk of lung cancer.
6. Pain Relief
Unbeknownst to many people, red onions are useful in relieving pain and in particular, pain caused by stinging insects which leaves a burning sensation. If you have been stung by a bee, apply red onion juice on the affected area and you will experience immediate relief from the burning sensation.
7. Prevents Gastric Ulcers
Red onions are very effective in fighting free radicals that are responsible for obnoxious gastric ulcers. The onions eat away the free radicals and eliminate them from the gastric tract thereby reducing the risk of gastric ulcers.

#RECIPE BELOW: *
INGREDIENTS: - 500g flank steak, sliced against the grain and cut into ¼ inch cubes
- ⅛ cup cornstarch
- ½ tablespoon sesame oil & vegetable oil (each)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- ½ cup low sodium soy sauce & cup water (each
- ¾ cup light or dark brown sugar
- Oil for frying
- Sliced green onions for garnished, if desired *
1. Toss the beef in the cornstarch and place in the fridge for 10 minutes while you are making the sauce and heating up the oil.
2. Heat sesame oil and canola or vegetable oil in a large skillet.
3. Add in garlic and ginger and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Stir in soy sauce, water and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
5. Meanwhile, add enough oil to a large wok or pan with high sides to fry the beef. (I used about 1 cup.) 6. Heat oil until hot but not scorching.
7. Add in the beef making sure not to over crowd the pan. (I did a couple of batches). Brown the beef on both sides for 1-2 minutes on each side.
8. Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels.
9. Place beef in the sauce and toss to coat.
10. Bring the sauce back to a simmer and cook until thickened 2-3 minutes.
11. Serve immediately with green onions for garnish if desired.

Strong flavour and right amount of sweetness. Just a bit dry due to me holding back on the butter... I guess I just have to be less conservative next time 🤣
