Have a cool chalkboard design that you want in YOUR house or for a special event? If you are interested and live in Washington or Oregon- message me! 😊 Just met up with a customer and finished this over coffee- love how it turned out!
I haven't posted in 7 days...yikes!! In the past week, I've worked on 4 events and a shoot. I don't know if I've eaten a real meal, slept a full night or spent more than 5 seconds with my live-in boyfriend, friends or family. Looking forward to tonight's @weddingnetworkusa meeting on #worklifebalance ! Too appropriate, right now. Sometimes we forget that we have to take care of ourselves before we can take care of our clients! #weddingseasonproblems
All the smiles come out during a first look!
A first look is my favorite way for the bride and groom to see each other for the first two on their wedding day. It creates a genuine moment that you can tailor to your vibe. Not only that but it also opens up your schedule after the ceremony since I also like to do group shots and family shots before the I Do's are exchanged.
Sara and Jamey were married at the antique carousel in Woodland Park Zoo. And you can bet that everyone got on their horsies and took a few spins 🐎🦄🎠
Where my early rising scrollers at?!#fridayintroductions - a day late and a dollar short, as my gramps would say. 😜
In fact, I am usually late. I work really really hard not to be late for this biz, because I have never had a job previously where I had to arrive at a certain time. I also share this trait with my family where we think it takes 15 minutes to get everywhere. This is the result of growing up in a small town where this used to be true.
I love frosé. It's super basic of me, but I could definitely do a super big gulp of these wine slushies, daily. My Christmas wish list has one thing on it: slushee machine!
I am one of those people who loves packing and will go to friends and family's houses to help them pack coordinated, efficient, and cute capsule wardrobes into every nook and cranny of their suitcases without wrinkles. And I HAVE to unpack the second I get home. Even though it's always super sad to be home from vacation, like today. Today I am feeling some major post-vaca drag. More frosé needed, stat! 😂
Anyway as my son Henry would say, "nice to meetcha!"
Wedding planning on a budget is tricky. Professional planners say that while a good portion of your budget (about 15-20%) will go to photography/videography, the biggest expense (45-50%) will likely be your venue and food/drinks. May as well make it worth it and give your guests something they'll love. How cute is this summer wedding beverage idea? 👆
QUESTION: If we were to add to our mobile bar collection what kind of rigs would you love to see? .
A. Another camper bar as cute as the first .
B. A tap truck with tons of draft options .
C. A vintage bar/wine truck .
D. Horse trailer bar .
E. Something else entirely, like the cool retro truck parts bar above (photo via @thewanderingsidecarbar by way of @marthastewart) .
we are deep into our summer season and so we are busy making sure we execute those events flawlessly, but my head is already thinking ahead to winter, when we have time to iterate and improve on our business. We have some big plans ahead, and I love a good crowd sourced question, so I'll be asking for your guys' opinions and help a few times in the next week or so as I dream towards the future. Cause you guys are smart. And stylish. And I trust you. Ready? GO!
May you be drinking tonight with the one you love. With a fat diamond on your hand, obviously. And may the drinks be chamomile whiskey sours made by Moi....on second thought, nah, because my grand plan for tonight Is to do nothing more than sit around on my butt staring at my family's faces and wondering how I got so lucky. And, alternately, threatening time outs and wondering if it's bedtime yet. . . What are YOUR grand plans? (If you say wine and sweat shorts like @kerryjeannephoto , then we're already friends 😜)

Spent the morning working out timeline details with these guys! That's where the job ends for me, though. I can't wait to celebrate their big day as a Bridesmaid and guest!! Less than 2 months away, whoo hoo!
I've been waiting to have a bride who tells me she is going to wear her mother's wedding dress. I can't wait to show you the entire thing. It's a piece of bohemian goodness #rachelbbrides 🌿 florals by @leahericksonfloral
I seriously love this photo. It isn't from their portrait time, or from first look. But it's moments before their pastor declared them husband + wife and Darnell was so excited that he had to bust a move. Loved this day.
Wedding #TipTuesday : Dreaming of a Pinterest worthy tablescape for your wedding but can't afford chargers, specialty linens and crystal goblets for every table? Your Sweetheart/Head Table is going to be the most photographed anyway, so make it a statement piece! Adding these details to only your Sweetheart/ Head Table will elevate the overall look and feel without blowing the budget.
Planning: #TheGreatestAdventure for @newcreationswed
Once upon a time as I was preparing to give birth to my first baby, I met the SWEETEST most genuine labor and delivery nurse ( holla at all you nurses). For all who know me, this won't surprise you. Even while in so much pain, a conversation seemed to put me at ease. I learned so much about Dalillah. At the time I wasn't even a photographer and had no idea of the wonderful plans that would be ahead of me. At the time, Dalillah had JUST met Jesse and I'm not sure if she even knew this guy would soon be her husband. We kept in touch. Overnight, I turned into a wedding photographer and all those months later, here we are.
Best part of what I do // meeting, connecting, and loving the people I get to serve ✨
One of the most emotional weddings I've seen in a long time. Kat + Jesse, you had me tearing up at every turn and I am so honored to have been there during your celebration. You two were meant for each other and I just adore your love!

#mood ...Today was the Monday-est Monday ever. I woke up extra early, to deep clean the whole house, before starting work. I lit candles, set out fresh towels, MADE THE BED. The whole shebang. I then sent my brother all the way to the airport to pick up my Aunt...who is actually coming NEXT Monday! Haha, whoops!! Cheers to Monday, crawling into a nice neat bed for an afternoon siesta (because obviously, I need one) annnd these two!! At least, I had an awesome Venue Walk-through and Timeline Meeting with them earlier!

These two are not models, they're just the very good looking Annie and Jack and they're married!!! Their backyard wedding in Kirkland on Saturday gave me all the good vibes. The house was Stunning, they were stunning (and warm and welcoming, the kind of people you hug on your first meeting), their guests were fun and chatty, the groomsmen insisted on pushing the camper into place, and their bright, fresh cocktail menu was perfect for the 85 degree day. This is why I do this. Weddings like theirs make me a very happy camper! As some of you know I first got the idea for our business after seeing holes in the industry when planning my own DIY backyard wedding, so they just hold a special place in my heart. Congratulations Annie and Jack, & thank you for sharing your day with us! .
WHAT'S HOLDING YOU BACK?
That question hit me like a wall on Friday. I was at the #sinclairandmooreworkshop and Steve was talking us through his business strategy and out of nowhere this question smacked me upside the head. I wrote it down in my notebook and refocused on the conversation he was having with us. I woke up Saturday and was getting ready to leave for the wedding we were helping with and I knocked my notebook off the table. When I looked on the ground it was open to that page that just held that one question WHAT'S HOLDING YOU BACK? except this time the answer arrived at the same time. NOTHING. Nothing is holding me back. I could write a book here about how inspired I am after this workshop. I have jotted down my thoughts time and time again over the last couple of days and I plan on sharing more after I can collect my them a bit, but for now I'm focusing on getting out of my own way, making some big moves, and making the next year the best yet for both my business, my family, and myself. Just putting it out there into the universe like ain't no thang....
