I’ve been a trainer for almost seven years and it’s stressful as a trainer, to be the strongest, be the fastest, to be current and enthusiastic.
I became a trainer because during my school days I did not understand exercise, I didn’t like it, and when I finally found my motivation to feel good I fell in love with moving my body. I loved the FEELING and I wanted to be able to pave a path for those who felt like me in school, to live a healthy life no matter what fitness level or size they are. I wanted to make people feel good and reassure them, you don’t have to be an athlete, you just have to make an effort to love your own body.
A few years into my career the pressure of having to have a six pack, be the strongest or to run a marathon left me back to where I was in school. Confused by exercise and why would you do something that makes you fell so, so useless? Yoga brought me back to the sense of well being, the sense of, you don’t need to have your best practice every day, but if you practice IT WILL COME.
I have found Yoga. As it allows me to teach my students in a way that suits my personality, non aggressive, but a little exciting.
I make my clients feel good, I make them realise that how they are is exactly how they are supposed to be at this moment. I tell them that with practice comes strength and with that the ability to listen to your OWN BODY, and your OWN MIND. You can feel better than you ever have before. It teaches you to block out the pure noise of the hundreds of voices that give you advice, “eat carbs, don’t eat carbs, take protein, lift heavy, run faster”

Although I physically look better in my after picture, and have been in this shape before, I now trust my body. I listen to it when it needs a rest and when it needs some chocolate. I also ignore it when it wants to be lazy but I know the energy is in there. Make friends with yourself, love yourself and be your best friend. You got this, you know what you’re doing. All is as it should be 🙂
