#EnforcerFridays#newmusic#hiphop I’m bias this week, when St. Louis in the house, it’s danger!!! My pick this week is #TDubbO , and his album #PleasureMoneyandPain . Dubb takes us on a journey through his lens sharing his narrative of St. Louis life. The intro and interludes set the tone for the album and play as a tribute to some classic street movies Paid in Full and Menace to Society. The opening track Heaven’s Fall is a laid back funky track for the G riders, if you a fan of that Dogg Pound music you will enjoy the vibes. Another track I was feeling “Press The Button” is a high energy track that matches Dubb’s intensity when he spits. The hunger and energy T Dubb O carries over from battle rapping has him holding a chip on his shoulder, especially on “Takeover 2k” inspired by Jay-z’s “TakeOver”, proving he is a force to deal with. The album is well balance with bars and good production, making “Pleasure, Money, and Pain” a notable release you should listen to. Make sure you also check out “Regrets” featuring Tef Poe, “Talk of the Town”, and “What Else”. 👍🏾>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Releases this week #WizKhalifa drops #LaughNowFlyLater , #Skooly#BacCWArdFeELiNgs , #88Glam self titled “88Glam”, and #Jidenna#Boomerang ep. Other notables releases is #Oddisee and #GoodCompany live album #BeneaththeSurface a live session of there music tour, #Pharcyde releases the #25thanniversary version of #BizarreRide2 a deluxe version filled with instrumentals, and accapellas of their popular songs from the album, I’m pretty sure there will be a vinyl release coming if not already out!

Artist: Bates (@bates_stl)
Album: Strange Woman
Genre: Hip Hop/Rap
Standout Track: "Strange Woman" ft. Mz Tigga, Cedes Cedes, Phenom Ionos, Chill & G.A Barz
#Bates never holds back, and surely doesn't on her latest project "Strange Woman". The 1st track, "Strange Woman", immediately lets you know that anyone putting her and other MC's that are women in a box should feel embarassed. This cypher is filled with 6 women delivering bar after bar on this haunting, hard-hitting beat. Gender norms/patriarchy have no say in trying to hold any of them back. And Bates doesn't need to explain herself, she just is who she is, and makes it obvious from track after track. It's not just a concept, it's her speaking on her life, and the everyday experiences on the North Side. Hence the track "Hold up Wait a Minute" where she calls out those not supporting her, and not believing in her movement, and her praise of Sheroes. "An Open Letter to a Little Girl" is so personal, and so hard to listen to at moments, but addresses the subjects of molestation and sexual assault. But she also creates a "non-traditional" love track called "Fxxk Your Couch" dedicated to her partner that's lit. Bates is unapologetic black pride at its finest. And if you've ever seen Bates live, you know she personifies that pride on stage with her passion and confidence in her skill. Artist: Tef Poe (@tef_poe)
Album: Black Julian
Genre: Hip Hop/Rap
Standout Track: " New Ice Cube"
#TefPoe went through a number of life changing events in the process of creating his project "Black Julian". Being a recognizable figure as an activist in the midst of the protests, including the Ferguson Protests, he dealt with being locked up, having to battle court cases , and the grievous event of his brother-in-law being shot . The same night he was in the hospital fighting for his life, Tef had a mind shift and wrote the intro to the project titled "Intro God in the City". Tef's passion, hard-hitting bars, and unapologetic self-confidence as a black man bleeds through on every track. His zeal makes you want to be like Fred Hampton and Huey. He's assisted by Corey Black, Tara Tee, T Dubb O, Monkh, The Knuckles, Nick Menn, Mai Lee, Bradd Young, & Glc.
