As we speak, our VP of Innovation @RunBoulet and our Sports Nutritionist @RoxyMTNgirl (pictured here in the Grand Tetons) are making a fast and light summit big on the highest volcano in the world, Ojos del Salado, at 22,600ft. (Click the link in our bio to read about this GU #EnduranceLab Project.)
Picture 2: They just sent an update from the their base camp at Laguna Verde, Chile. All is going as planned at 14,229ft. From this camp they will make their light and fast bid for the summit at 22,600ft.
Picture 3: This climb will test the rigorous training protocol that was established in the GU Endurance Lab in Berkeley, CA. They plan to summit in half the time as a typical expedition using a "rapid ascent protocol" that enabled them to pre-acclimatize during their normal routines at sea level. Using equipment from Hypoxico Altitude Training Systems (@hypoxico) including an altitude chamber at GU HQ and altitude tents around their beds, they were able to prepare their bodies for the rigorous of climbing at extreme elevations.
Picture 4: Magda and Roxanne carefully monitored their biomarkers via blood tests by @InsideTracker, and also tested their metabolic efficiency and VO2Max to help guide their training efforts.
The team will make their summit attempt later this week. Stay tuned for updates from Chile!

18yrs ago when I first broke into Hollywood, I knew nothing about acting or the business of Hollywood.
The only thing I knew and was 100% committed to was surrounding myself with good hard working people and the work I was willing to put in with my own two hands.
I wanted to win, but I was willing to fail, because I knew that my effort was the only thing I could always control. And if I got my ass kicked and failed but gave great effort, I’d always come out the other side a better man.
Here we are today, 18yrs later... these same two hands (with more callouses) touching this symbolic cement.
My heart is full of GRATITUDE for my family, loved ones and everyone on my team who touches this with me.
I’m a very grateful man.

Im Jahr 2018 will ich mir selbst beweisen, dass auch Kraftsportler gute Läufer sein können. Ich will GLEICHZEITIG meine Kraftwerte in den 3 großen Lifts auf ein Total von mindestens 500kg verbessern UND im April den Berliner Halbmarathon in weniger als 2 Stunden laufen!
Erste Etappe ist für mich der Sylvester-Lauf(10,3km) in Aachen in 2 Wochen, wo ich praktisch ohne Vorbereitung mit 90kg verteilt auf 180cm starte. Wollen mal sehen, was ich da (dann ohne Kater😉) reißen kann💪
I’m feeling SO MUCH better. I feel like my “winter depression” is fading away day by day. Because I’ve rediscovered the workouts that I love. I have once again found my tribe of awesome strong people, who make me feel my best. Thank you for that. As for my own journey, I’ve gotten MORE in tune with my body and everything feels effortless now, I no more have eating issues, I no more hate my body, I no more over-exercise. When I started to give my body more rest (as in off-season), I have seen incredible results very fast. The weight is going down quickly but at the same time I’m feeling stronger than ever. And I’m not restricting AT ALL. I just eat what my body craves and THAT’S IT. I’m VERY EXCITED for the upcoming season and where it takes me 🌸

Race 4️⃣ Southern Lakes: the gift of pacing your race
I learnt an important lesson in Wanaka. Determined to ace a sub-2hr race on the downhill course, I went out too fast and conked out early ⏱ It was still a PB, but a long way off my goal. 🎁 For the next 10 days, we’re sharing the gifts each 12HALF12 race gave us, in a countdown to our 2018 challenge reveal! 🎄

Climbing is solving a puzzle with my body. Learning to climb at 30, when my body is more stubborn, is quite a challenge. But without the challenge it ain't fun. Shout out to all the young-at-heart who dare. We can do this!
