I've been digging back thru notes and photos on past projects, trying to get some inspiration flowing. I definitely need to do more with textured & ebonized white oak! What would you like to see this texture on?

In this photo: a detail of the new piece of "Not So Black. Not So Square" series (mixed-media on paper). But today's post is not about art. It's about who wants to make their money on artists.
And about who gives them a real support...
I guess many of you get e-mails with offers of getting your works to an exhibition/participating in art competitions/being featured in magazines. For a fee...
Since i'm lucky to know well the world of publishing and the world of galleries (in different countries) i know that a serious gallery/magazine will never approach any artist with any payment request.
So, with the latest mail i have got (being featured for a fee), i've lost patience and have replied that since the photos of my art give a quality content to their magazine, they should pay me money for every photo i submit.
Ok, i was partly kidding. And partly protesting. I get angry when i think about all those who want to exploit the artists (especially emerging artists) instead of giving them support.
About giving support to emerging artists... Very proud of Pavart Gallery @pavartroma that on the 1st of February opens in their space in Rome the exhibition of paintings of the students of Milanese Brera Academy. The selection of the artists is based on quality and originality of their work, and NO FEE for taking part... For them this will be their first gallery experience. Lucky them...they will enter the art world in a professional way due to their merits.
