Pastry tip: if you have a disc of chilled pastry that's become rock hard in the fridge, just chop it up into smaller pieces and let it warm up on the counter for 10-20 minutes. Small pieces warm up more quickly than a big hunk!! 🕑👩🍳👨🍳

There are some days when you want sometime for yourself. Take a break from the daily grind, monotony and find some me time. So yesterday’s lunch was at one of the branches of Maratha Samrat specialising in Kolhapuri 🥘 Here is one of their chicken 🍗 thalis which is served with bajra bhakri ( pearl millet bread) or the wheat Chappati. There is chicken curry, chicken fry, minced chicken, tambda rassa, pandhra rassa and not to forget the sol kadhi.

The usual for me and the babe's first omelette. I thought she might like trying something she can pick up and bite into. She examined it thoroughly but the first few bites led to some coughing so I ended up chopping it small so she could manage eating it a little better.
This was also her first time eating egg whites. We started with egg yolks early on in our solid food process and today she got the whole egg. Egg whites are common allergen so I wanted to be cautious when introducing them. #9monthsold
Vegan Apple Pie by @eat.drink.shrink⠀
1 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar⠀
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour⠀
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon⠀
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger⠀
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg⠀
6 to 7 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples⠀
1 tablespoon lemon juice⠀
2 tablespoon vegan butter⠀
1tbsp vegan butter (outside, optional)⠀
Additional derma sugar (optional)⠀
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour⠀
2/3 cup (more as necessary) coconut oil, cool enough to be solid⠀
1 teaspoon salt⠀
1 Tbs coconut sugar⠀
1 tsp cinnamon⠀
3-5 Tbsp ice water⠀
Crust: Combine the flour, salt, cinnamon, and coconut sugar in the bowl. Add your solid coconut oil and with your hand combine until mixture is crumbly and will stick together when you squeeze it. Add the water 1 tbsp at a time, or until the dough holds together well when you make a handful of it and form a disc. Chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.⠀
Apples: In a small bowl, combine the coconut sugar, flour and spices; set aside. In a large bowl, toss sliced/peeled apples with lemon juice. Add sugar/flour/spice mixture; toss to coat. Line a 9-in. pie plate with bottom crust; press into dish, trim pastry even with edge. Fill with apple mixture; dot with vegan butter. Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie. Place over filling.⠀
Trim, seal and flute edges. Cut slits in pastry. Melt vegan butter; brush over pastry. Sprinkle with derma sugar. Cover edges loosely with foil. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20-25 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: 8 servings.⠀
Homemade chocolates are the best♥️ Just 1 minute to melt + mix, + about 10 minutes to set in ice cube tray. My temperamental tastebuds removed them from the freezer a few minutes too soon, so they’re a bit melty but possibly even better since they’re crunchy + gooey. This batch includes coconut oil, honey, raw cacao, raspberries, pink salt🌿
I spend the whole day in Berlin after 'sleeping' on an overnight bus (love this city)!

m a t c h a 🍵 - my favorite way to start a slow morning 💚// This was a bit of an experiment to make my own cashew milk, and guys it was SO EASY! I simply added 2 tbsp of raw cashews (no soaking required), 1 mug of boiled water + a pinch of salt to my @vitamix + blended for about a minute to make the milk. Then add 1 tsp matcha (I use @panateamatcha) + a touch of honey, blend a bit more, and you get a delicous, frothy matcha latte at home! I've been drinking matcha plain for years, but can't wait to experiment with more matcha mixes - what's everyone's favorite ingredient to add 🤗?!
