As I continue to plan and get excited for this years wedding season, I can't help but pause over and over again as I'm reminded how cool of an opportunity this is. I am so grateful to witness moments where entire families are united forever. Thank you to all my sweet couples- you've chosen to involve me in the most sacred unity and I'm honored.
It’s time for #fridayintroductions , wee! I am Samantha – wife, mom to two, and dentist for a community health clinic. I am passionate about public health, my Catholic faith, and ice cream sundaes. I’m usually rocking a pair of sparkly earrings and I am a Ravenclawesome INFJ. I love musicals, period dramas, and stationery goodies. I am a devotional writer for @blessedisshe__ and the Blessed Virgin Mother is my homegirl.
If you could only eat one type of dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be? For me, it’s ice cream.
Not gonna lie.... this week I felt like I was stuck in Groundhog Day. Anyone else?
Seems like as soon as I closed my eyes for bed, my alarm was going off...downstairs to start a pot of coffee, read a little devotional, start a little work, feed the kids, school, more work, lunch, work, dinner, bed and on it goes.
We have so much to keep up with that by the end of the day we are feeling exhausted, unaccomplished and straight up blah! <- that's the technical term right?
That's why today.....I didn't care about what I wrote down on my to-do list. That's right....straight up ignored it. (So hardcore) Instead I chose to just focus on what I felt like doing in that moment. I chatted with a friend over the phone, I listened to some inspiring business videos (because I'm a nerd) & I had a little extra coffee (Hallelujah!)
The point is, somedays we just need to rest and cut ourselves a break. We weren't made to be perfect and we weren't made to do everything....that's way overrated anyway.
Here's to being real and rocking it!
if this doesn’t say ‘NYC BABE’ i’m not sure what does 🍔 🍟 🌃😂 had an appointment uptown earlier today, and afterwards penelope said “let’s treat ourselves mumma!” (okay, maybe that part was in my head 🤪) happy weekend, finally!
“For every plan we make, God has a BETTER ONE—utilizing every talent and making allowances for every weakness. Psalm 139 says we were created intentionally, with purpose, & He has already planned ahead to bring fulfillment of that purpose through our daily lives. Every day is a gift, and it’s our responsibility to do something with the present moment that will honor God & the talents He’s given us.” -#gritandvirtue#truth#useMe
:It’s amazing to see how our minds are trained to only rejoice over something big happening in our lives that we don’t realize what is small to you is big for someone else. Never downplay your blessings because they don’t measure up to someone else’s. Instead be grateful for what it is because in an instant it can be taken away 👑
A little paint, a little glitter and a SiverRidge Pinot all while listening to @cdumstorf tell the story behind the Bisig Brackets. Sure, the shapes make for a fab icon, but the value is all the great things we make INSIDE!
Okay so not the best pic, but I don’t care because I got all these donuts from @glamdolldonuts today and you didn’t 😉 But really I took my coworker there over lunch because she is hella lactose intolerant, like worse than me, and they have vegan donuts that are super delish 🙌🏻 #foodfriday

One of the things that I've been LOVING this year is being a part of a group of friends, family & church (etc) that is doing the SAME read the Bible in a year plan! I'm talking Michael and I, my in laws, Michaels grandparents, my friends from church....you name it! Boy, what a beautiful picture it's been of community and loving accountability! Anyways....I digress. // Last week I was reading about Abraham and I couldn't shake this thought. Abraham obeyed-->GENERATIONS were blessed! Generations people! I can't wrap my head around it! One mans act of unhindered, complete trust in His God (and the act of faith worked out by obedience to what God said) resulted in effecting the lives of generations! Talk about the ripple effect!!! Praying this over my life (and our lives)! That we would be people acting in faith and full obedience to what God says and His word....because our acts of obedience (or disobedience) could change countless lives! // 📷 and beautiful calligraphy by the talented @rachel_allene ❤️

I've got a secret for you that miiiiiiight just blow your mind. Not everyone is supposed to be an educator. You're not a better boss lady because you offer mentoring or workshops. 😱 Your business isn't inherently better than the rest just because you speak at conferences. (Although ALL the power to those of you who ARE meant for those things!! 💪🏽)
So before you go getting down on yourself because you're not educating, remember...everyone is uniquely gifted in very specific and intentional ways. So be the absolute BEST photographer you can be and stop striving to become a celebrity photography educator. Stop thinking your business is doomed because you don't offer any education or speak on big stages.
Be faithful with what you have, work hard toward YOUR dreams and cheer hard for your friends whose goals might just be education.
If that's not your cup of tea, let it go and be exactly who you were designed to be. 😘😘
I am posting to let everyone know I’m going to take a bit of time to refurbish my blog, work on design and graphics and writing some content before promoting an unfinished and unprofessional website! I’ll still be posting frequently on here but you may not see any promotional tactics for a few weeks, and my replies may also be slower. I’m going through some problems at the moment and have just dealt with the death of a close family friend and I think it’s fitting to have a short break.
I’ll be back very shortly! 😘
Last June I had done photos for Kari the owner of my viola floral studio. I have done photos of rentals stuff for weddings for brides to use at there special day. If you’re going to the bridle walk this Saturday afternoon that page of information is gonna be there! Stop by to see Kari from my viola!!
I had ten, yes TEN, internships in college...I worked in social media, marketing, PR, communications, and events. I thought each one was leading me to my dream job of working for a big corporate company where I’d have a big office with bright windows and a mini putt-putt course but it actually led me to become my own CEO! ✨👑
Interning was an ADVENTURE and I have so many stories and lessons, some so interesting I may need to even turn them into blog posts! 🤔 Interning was the best decision I made in college and I recommend you do it to if you’re in that season of life!
Interning turned out to be like a giant funnel, every internship allowed me to narrow down what I wanted out of an office environment and my career but no matter how high I climbed that corporate ladder I realized there was always going to be someone else who was “the boss,” so I decided to be the boss of myself and so far it’s been my favorite position! So cheers to following your dreams and Fridays! 🥂 So what if it’s he weekend? Start TODAY! You won’t regret it!
This is the reality. It's not easy. It's hard. Uncomfortable. Painful. But it is a journey that is DIFFERENT for each of us. Everyone has different ways and different stages of dealing and healing from painful experiances. You will grow at the speed that you are meant to.. fuck other peoples opinions and expectations of where/how you should be. Every time you hit a low point it is an opportunity to learn and come back stronger. Just keep moving ♡
❤️💗ON UNSOLICITED ADVICE.
This one is a tough one.
Partly because I, for one, am ever guilty of this. A lot.
Unsolicited advice is exactly that.
It wasn’t asked for.
It likely wasn’t wanted.
And sometimes hurts more than it helps.
Trust that folks have the agency to ask for what they want and need and if they don’t ask for your advice on any number of things you think your feedback is needed on; don’t give it.
Seriously, I say this as someone who’s done this myself way too often.
As well intentioned as it may be; it’s just not helpful.
Unless someone asks you to give them advice on how they can “improve”, cook better, deal with their illness, be a better lover etc; RESIST.
Texting/ typing fingers off.
Eyes and heart... open.

Hey, friends! It seems like a good time for #fridayintroductions ☺️ I’m Robin, the writer and photographer behind everything you see here on the #featherandflint Instagram, and on the site featherflint.com. Here are a few things you might not know about me just from following Feather & Flint on Instagram:
1. I worked at a Starbucks in downtown Boston for several months when I was in college. This normally wouldn’t have held much significance in my life–it taught me to never sacrifice sleep for a job, and how to make a damn good cappuccino. However, in the last month that I worked there, one of my regular customers worked up the nerve to ask me on a date. We’ll be celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary in April!
2. I’m a big Myers-Briggs nerd. I use it to understand the world around me every day. I’m an INFJ, and when I found this out in college, it changed my understanding of my entire life. INFJs often feel lonely in the world because they’re the rarest personality type; so knowing why I always felt this way was such an enlightening revelation! If you’re a Myers-Briggs nerd too, let’s talk!
3. I’m basically a blend of 4 fictional characters that I loved as a kid: Matilda, Pocahontas, Mulan, and Harriet the Spy.
What’s one fun fact that I should know about you? I can’t wait to hear ☺️💕
Apologize right now, damn it. Apologize to your family for being absent minded. Apologize to the mean girls you’re holding grudges against. Apologize to your S/O for being bitchy. Apologize to the public, for being anything less than authentic. Apologize to your dogs for yelling when they want to play. Apologize to yourself for not apologizing sooner.
Saying sorry isn’t a form of giving in or giving up... it’s the first step to setting yourself free.
Seek forgiveness now, and then forgive yourself for the future. You don’t need to change overnight, but growth requires you to let go and go on. 💛
The weekend is in sight and we have so many orders leaving the shop between now and tomorrow so I’m going to have to keep hustling until we get there! But while I drink my coffee, I’m still I’m going to take a minute to get my Pinterest fill. Are we friends on Pinterest yet?! #whodoesntlovepinterest
Reposted from: @honeylovesorg: I am a mixed girl with scars, rolls, flaws, olive skin, fluffy hair, thick eye brows, peach fuzz, small chest, and a big booty. I have felt the pressure to conform, i have felt the pressure to change myself, my body, and deep down, change the core of who i was. But i have awakened the queen in myself, to realize the power i have within, by embracing myself wholly, as God took the time to create every strand of hair on my head to the fingers on my hands.
When there’s fifty percent off the bill does that means it’s ok to order twice as much tapas @ibericarestaurants? I think the octopus (pic 2) was my fav followed closely by the hare croquettes (3 and 6) 😙👌🏻 Trying to decide where to eat on Sunday now... any recommendations?
This kid is so much cooler than I’ll ever be. And goodness, I love her scrunchy nosed smile and her hair in that ponytail (except for the fact that she looks 15).😭
My guy started back to work today, but he got to work from home (keeping that flu at bay 😷) and it’s FRIDAY, so yay!
4 weeks ago today we were a bundle of the best kind of tears and newborn snuggles as we had just met our darling son.💙
New mugs for homemade cappuccinos and lattes arrived today, the snow has been sparkling in that glorious winter sun, J and I are hooked on The Crown (a bit late to the game, I know), we’re having pasta for dinner tonight, and there’s a Saturday morning coming.🍳🥐☕️
pieces of happy and so very grateful for them. ❄️ Happy Friday, lovelies!
“Tea time is a chance to slow down, pull back and appreciate our surroundings” ~Letitia Baldridge
I have tea time nearly every afternoon. A little poetry, sometimes accompanied by classical music. Sounds romantic, huh?! ... Insert 5 year old, 4 year old, 2.5 year old, and 19 month old!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣...Still romantic, except now it’s an adventure as well! Jocelyn uses her sippy cup still - usually filled with water, but the other girls get to choose their tea cup and saucer, and practice “gently”. They are actually pretty good at it now, and we don’t think much of it. Our cups aren’t always filled with tea, although sometimes we DO go all out! Basically it is snack time with a fancy cup! I don’t know much about “tea time” nor am I am connoisseur of tea, but this time each day is special to us! Everyone might not be so inclined or able to have a “tea time”, but I think any time we gather ‘round the table together is a chance to slow down and enjoy one another! “Nothing is more important than being with the God-Given Gift of the person in front of me.” ~Rachel Macy Spafford “Would you like an adventure now, or shall we have our tea first?” ~Alice in Wonderland
