So a few weeks ago I had some trauma to my knee. It was painful just to walk a few steps. This was a HUGE dark cloud over my head. Not only am I in the middle of training for my first Ultra but I could not longer engage in my daily strength training and felt like I lost a piece of myself.
After two weeks of my body screaming to move and finally the okay from my Dr I hit the trail slow and steady just to release some of my energy and get back on the path of sanity. I knew it was time to start taking back what is mine for the taking as long as I LISTEN TO MY BODY!
So here I am, almost 3 weeks since the last time I popped this DVD in my TV. I've lost some strength and my knee is screaming with the lunges but with some modifications I did it!!!
Everyone starts somewhere, we all have set backs, we all don't power through workouts like a walk in the park. It's a fight to push play, it's a sweaty struggle to make it to the end, it's take motivation to push yourself to the next level! You don't have to have an in home gym, you don't need super cute designer workout outfits, you don't have to be rippling with muscle. You just need to want to change.
Having some accountability and maybe a cute little workout buddy doesn't hurt either.
Doubled up my runs yesterday and skipped my #hammerandchisel so just killed "yesterday's" Max Hammer Strength, and need to get in Chisel Agility later today. Telling y'all is part of my accountability!
Week TWO of our Strong Mom's group and these mamas are KILLIN' IT! I am so proud of these lovely ladies. I am continued to be motivated and inspired by each and every one of them on a daily basis.
It's so easy to put yourself on the back burner as a mom, this is why I feel so passionately about these moms only challenge groups. We can all sympathize with the day to day struggles and then adding in health and wellness for not only yourself but for your whole family.

This is the face of a girl that just rocked a workout for the first time in a week.
I am incredibly embarrassed. I went for a 5 day road trip, and ran one time. Since coming home I have just been trying to get back into reality, and just like the old me came up with ever excuse in the book as to why my workout could wait until tomorrow.
Last night I was flipping through FB trying to fit in another episode of OITNB (yes I'm only 3 episodes in season 4 so no spoilers) and was overwhelmed with seeing all these sweaty selfies. I felt nauseated with guilt and shame. That's no way to live...

I put off trying Hammer and Chisel for so long. Why?!? Because the "Hammer" is pretty intimidating to look at. I thought, no way can I do what he is going to ask of me. Well let me tell you, I was dead wrong.
