Today I remember the day I got called and informed my best friend murdered himself. Today I remember the last text from Jared before he jumped off that ten story building. Today, I also remember sitting in my bathtub bleeding profusely while I shoveled pills into my mouth begging for the pain to end. Wanting out of the abuse and the torment. I survived. My best friends didn't. Did you know that men are at a higher risk of suicide? Let's create a society where it's okay for men to cry, to emote, to love and hug each other. Where emotions are acceptable and we stop this 'be a man' shit - it's toxic. Today, we need to talk about the documentary #TheMaskYouLiveIn @maskyoulivein and we need to discuss ways to elevate conversations to those of optimism and healing instead of circling around reminders of pain constantly. I love you Kyle. I love you Jared. Thank you for the memories. To everyone: stay strong. I say this with the most love: get over it. Read that with love. Get over it. You can climb that wall. You can fight that thought. You have the power, beloved, to get over it. To thrive. Join me. ✨💪🏼
Finally cast on the Wanderer Mukluks by Andrea Mowry. I am really enjoying the color work process. I think I may prefer it over lace.

2nd glove is coming along nicely. I want to cast something new on, but I have 3 going and I want to finish 1 or 2 first. I hope to finish these today! @swift_yarns in Wednesday. Free Koigu Fingerless Glove pattern on Rav.
When your LYS has a sale and you still have gift certificates from your bday to spend, you get to have the stash enhancement of your dreams. Finally get to work with some Malabrigo and Manos de Uruguay. Also pictured : Pima Cotton, Smooshy w Cashmere, Mad Tosh single ply and pashmina. Oh. My. God. My yarn bin overfloweth.
I have had my hand-dyed yarn packed in ziplocks to keep them safe from dust and sunlight. I think this has impacted my purchases because I can't see what I have and what will go with it. So, I got these cute bins from Ikea. Perfect! This is my whole stash of indie dyed yarns. I still have some commercial and junk yarn, but this is the stuff that inspires me.
After some losses, I decided to accept my level of skill and knit something I can pull off to my ridiculous standards. I've heard a million times that West knits are the best knits, so I thought it was time. This is Holey Chevrons in very un-Stephen West colors. I dug deep into my stash and picked two of the very first skiens I ever bought. I think it looks like cake. Tan stripe=Toasted Marshmallow by @cedarhouseyarns. Progress. This pattern is so fun, you guys. I am in LOVE with my #addiclick olive wood needles. They are the best knitting investment I've made thus far. I still have love for my #hiyahiyasharps , but the olive wood is a dream to work with. I'm not so excited about the yarn I'm using, but I bought a crap ton of the stuff when I first started knitting. I think I will still have enough for a baby blanket after I'm done....oof.

I am so glad I went nuts during the last big Craftsy yarn sale. I took a risk on a ton of baby alpaca buns. I say risk because I have never knit with it and had no idea if I would like it. My husband said, "Do it. It'll be fun." (That man supports all of my crazy ideas.) He was right. It IS fun. I'm thrilled I bought enough black to make a crop vest or short sleeved sweater!😻
Mad Tosh heavy fingering weight knit on Size 8 needles. 👌 Squishy! I had no idea what to do with this colorway when I received it in a yarn club, but it's perfect for one of my most beloved friends. I picked a simple pattern since this yarn has such a personality. (Pictured in photo 2)

This bullshit seemed like a good idea at the time. The number of strings dangling from this is an absolute clustercuss. Lessons learned from sleeves: Don't do this.☝️ How to properly alternate b/w skiens: I was cutting every round I changed yarns in the body of the sweater (don't do that, either). 😐
