Other delicious bread well worth seeking out in London are these favourites of mine:
Theo Randall at the InterContinental: Bruschetta. Worth the admission on its own. Garlic-rubbed bread of fantastic quality is grilled to impart a back taste of smoke and topped with roasted tomatoes imported weekly from Italy. The variety depends on whatever is best available at the time, be it those from Naples or vibrant Datterinis from Sicily. Fresh marjoram and new season’s extra virgin olive oil with its peppery taste complete what is a wonderful bite. I have huge admiration for a kitchen paying such attention to detail on something not explicitly charged for.
Barrafina: Pan con tomate. Not the most authentic version but still tasty and the best rendition I’ve tasted in the capital. The thick-cut bread has a good balance between crisp exterior and chewy inside and is a perfect vehicle for the ripe tomatoes that lend their juicy sweetness.
Kitty Fisher's: grilled bread with burnt onion butter. A crusty loaf drizzled with oil and charred on the wood-fired grill is served with whipped butter dusted with onion ash. An addictive combination that becomes a starter in its own right given the quantity one inevitably consumes.
The booby prize goes to Pidgin for fermented potato bread that was so stodgy and heavy it makes all of the above seem like dainty little fairy cakes in comparison. I can barely conceive of a more ill-judged beginning to a meal that was probably (despite stiff competition from China) the most bewildering Michelin starred one I have eaten. The star was removed last week but how and why it was elevated to stardom in the first place shall remain a mystery to me.
Лондон - такая же маленькая деревня, как и Москва, в правильных местах 🗺😂😂😂 I bring my artworks travelling all around the globe as you never know when and where the life will bring you right opportunities to meet interesting people... So happened this time in London before the dinner at the italian restaurant @theo.randall at the beloved @icparklane where I met business partners from Asia... 📸 @den_krasnoperov #maxgoshkodankov#icparklane#theorandall#london#uk#travellondon
Ещё один вариант отлично провести время и вкусно поужинать - это Theo Randall at @icparklane у них отличное сет-меню на вечер из 5 блюд, шансов доесть все практически нет 🙈 но все очень вкусно. Заглядывайте вечером на вкусный ужин ❤️// Another option is to have a great time and have a delicious dinner - this is Theo Randall at @icparklane they have an excellent set menu for the evening of 5 dishes, there is almost no chance to finish everything 🙈 but everything is very tasty. book a table for an evening for a delicious dinner ❤️ #london#theorandall#intercontinentalhotel#icparklane#dinner#travel#journey#deliciousfood
On Saturday on a new brunch menu launch @theo.randall I felt like I had a chance to visit every Italian region with its own atmosphere and try the unique taste of every antipasti! But apart from delicious starters and fishy secondi I tried la crepes filled with wild berries, hot chocolate and mascarpone cream! Guess what is my favorite desert now? 😌
Anyway, if you have a chance to visit @theo.randall at @icparklane say hi from me! ☺️
Мой любимый новый десерт однозначно блинчики с горячим шоколадом и лесными ягодами! ☺️
Two of my favourite flavours are fresh basil and tomatoes so this @theo.randall cherry tomato focaccia with pesto recipe from @deliciousmag has become a new favourite. Much easier to do than I initially thought it would be.
