Panhellenic Photo Challenge Day 10: Best Memory
Here is Hayley's best Theta Phi memory: "My all time favorite memory in Theta Phi has to be when I saw my little sister get initiated two years after I did. We've always been very different people, but when she started going to UM-Flint, I knew I had to convince her to go through recruitment, because caring, kind people like her are exactly what a sorority woman should be. I cried when she was initiated into the organization that holds my heart, and I couldn't be more proud of her. She made the thing that already meant so much to me somehow mean even more❤"
Panhellenic Photo Challenge Day 7: Founders
I have already discussed our original founders for this photo challenge, so here are our chapter founders! This is our Alpha class from when we were reinstated on campus in 2009, on their initiation day! We are so thankful for these wonderful women, who allowed us to share Theta Phi Alpha with our university! So many of them are still involved with the chapter & we are truly blessed! 💙💛 #thetaphi#thetaphibl#umflintgreeks#gogreek#breakingthestereotype#whyiwearmyletters
Another #whythetaphi ! Here is Katy with her experiences with Theta Phi, and look out because it is a tearjerker!! "Joining Theta Phi Alpha was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. Not because I wasn't sure about Greek life, but because I was torn between two sororities. The day I received my bid I had mixed feelings. I called my 4H leader who was in a sorority and asked her what I should do. I told her I loved the values the Theta Phi women held, as well as the women themselves, but going in I had my mind set on another sorority. Her responds to me was "so what's your problem? You love the girls so that's where you belong". I went to Bid day and knew instantly that Theta Phi was my home. The women of theta Phi have not only been there for me but they have been my home in my worst moments. I decided to join Greek life because I was going into my final year of 4H and knew I needed another family to continue to grow with. The women were not only reasonable but also so flexible with my schedule when it came to horse shows. I had just been initiated and a couple months later I lost my horse to cancer. My sisters were one of the only things that got me through my darkest time. Your sisters are the ones you lean on when you can't stand on your own anymore. They were my rock and my family when my own didn't know how to fix my heart. If you're even considering going Greek don't second guess it. Don't listen to the negatives. Just go for it. You'll find a home and you won't be able to imagine your life with out your sisters." #thetaphibl#umflintgreeks#gogreek#thetaphialpha
The best part about Theta Phi- lifelong relationships, even after collegian years!! Courtney is an alumni of Beta Lambda, while Gina is a collegian, initiated in Fall 2014! 💙💛 #thetaphibl#whythetaphi#gogreek
Four weeks until the first day of recruitment! Here's our lovely Raven on her experience with greek life: "I originally went to recruitment because I was bored and my friend didn’t want to go alone. What I found there, was an amazing community of women who would eventually become my family. Joining a sorority has not only given me a great support system, but it has also allowed me to explore outside my comfort zone. Through Theta Phi Alpha I have learned how to better myself as a person and the value of asking help from others, and I hope to learn so much more during the rest of my undergraduate career and the rest of my life." #thetaphibl#gogreek#umflintgreeks
With recruitment less than a month away, we will share some of our stories! Here is our president, Audrey, on her experience in greek life:
"I went Theta Phi because I wanted to find friends who were going to support me through my academic endeavors! I got that but I also got so much more. I found a family- who gives me as much love as any person could possibly need." We hope to see you in one month during Panhellenic formal recruitment! #thetaphibl#gogreek#umflintgreeks
