choose your battles. people will always have something to say about you. that means you’re doing something right. if you worry about what people think of you then you’ll always be at war. let your actions speak for you. @lovaste ✨ #mindfulness
Emotions are temporary and breathtaking. Stay present and allow your breath to give you more life. When you feel yourself rushed, panicked, or overwhelmed-- let your breath recharge you.
Remember to give your brain a break and let breath connect you to your highest self.
I invite you to join me + let #conscious breathing be your anchor today. Happy #Selfcaresaturday !
Morning blessings- I am always home in my breath. When I am not present I can always go back to my breath. My speech is kind and without negativity. I can acknowledge every thought and replace bad habits with good ones. I can enjoy each moment. I have already arrived, each moment I am here, I am free. #morninginspiration#inspiration#blessings#peace#breathing#thichnhathanh

Incredible photo from @amapaday. The thing that is the most striking to me is how similar our architecture is to our computer hardware -- at least from this perspective. The buildings also have a sense of an extremely information-dense 3d bar graph. Interesting to think of the buildings as representations of power.
I think a big reason why our planet is so sick is because of our separation from Nature. For millions of years, our ancestors knew nothing but the intimate experience of sun, rain, clouds, trees, grass, dirt, rivers, streams --- just being immersed in the green of a forest is a wonder & a relief --- granted we don't have to hack it away with machetes. Now when I drive in the city every day I wonder why the average city-dweller is not caught enraptured by the odd blossoming flower or the colors on a pigeons neck. For many, going to the park is primarily a social event --- with the nature absorbtion happening subconsciously. I think if we viewed nature is something that our bodies NEED contact with daily, like water, we would all be much healthier.
I can understand why many humans began to view nature as something to be conquered (and raped, and polluted, and exploited) --- once our species stepped "off the path" of animal consciousness, our acquisition of metaconsciousness permitted us to CRITIQUE nature, rather than simply deal with it. This is why Nature-worship is the oldest form of religious truth ---one cannot argue with destroyed crops, droughts and floods.
That being said, it is a misunderstanding. Nature's harshness is merely the neutral edge that conscious beings are honed upon, on the workbench of Time, forever. Apparently, anyways.
In the meantime, the psychedelic renaissance is in full swing -- and seems to have the ancient flavor of our ancestors returning with their wisdom. Someone recently told me; "the elders aren't wise anymore", and for the most part, it appears to be true. "Avoid gurus, follow plants," says Terence Mckenna.
Now, what exactly does this mean, "follow plants?" How can one "follow" a plant? Hm indeed I wonder... #newyork#centralpark#taoism#plantmedicine#thichnhathanh#metaconsciousness#archaicrevival#shamanism

📝 #ThichNhatHanh 🎨 Radhika
Life can be like doing Malasana next to the ocean... it can unexpectedly knock you over and leave you with a sandy, wet behind..🙈 .
One of my favorite homies, Thich Nhat Hanh, says "there can be no lotus flower without the mud." Suffering is a part of life, and we must learn how to embrace and cradle our suffering and the suffering of the world with tenderness and love!
So dust the sand off your butt and smile because everything is temporary and your peace brings the world peace ✌️
Kiss The Earth
Walk and touch peace every moment.
Walk and touch happiness every moment.
Each step brings a fresh breeze.
Each step makes a flower bloom.
Kiss the Earth with your feet.
Bring the Earth your love and happiness.
The Earth will be safe
when we feel safe in ourselves.

Gratitude Tip #4 :TAKE A DAILY GRATITUDE WALK
“When we do walking meditation, we can take each step in gratitude and joy because we know that we’re walking on Mother Earth.”-Thich Nhat Hanh
Walks in nature are very important for our well-being. When you aren’t able to get outside, take some time to get present with your walk. Even if it’s walking to your next meeting at work, feel your feet, with every step, on this amazing planet. Feel the effects of gravity and the pull of the core of the Earth keeping you grounded firmly in the moment.
🌠🙏🏼💜 Have a great weekend! ✨✨✨ ‘We will be more successful in all our endeavors if we can let go of the habit of running all the time, and take little pauses to relax and re-center ourselves. And we'll also have a lot more joy in living’. #ThichNhatHanh ✨✨✨ #bodyandsoulawareness
Today's quote from my 365 Days of Mindfulness ❤ Mindfulness is about patience. It recognizes that changes need time, and that we cannot make things happen on our desired schedule. And some things are completely beyond our ability to change (as people often are)but we can be attentive when we are in the company of others. We can’t make a flower bloom when we want it to. In some cases, it might not bloom at all. But we can set the best possible conditions to support its happening. So we fertilize the soil and provide water and sunshine. Then we must wait, patiently and without expectations. We give that flower the attention it needs 😊 #365daysofmindfulness#thichnhathanh#quoteoftheday#beattentive
