Japanese Maple Bark made in #Texture#SubstanceDesigner
Referenced from my own trees also shown in this screenshot.
This texture is made up of 2 2 layer textures
Bottom Layer is the grayish bark color that splits revealing the golden yellow woody texture beneath.
Top Layer is the smooth green surface that begins to wrap the top of the bottom layer in various places on the tree, mostly where it begins to branch from the trunk.
Both layers are their own graphs which can be tweeked for variation of patterns, and rendered solid, The graph that blends the two together is highly customizable too, offering a few different patters for the smooth bark wrapping to achieve the various pattern types I found in the reference photos I took.
This texture is meant to be rendered out progressively blending from one layer to the next to mimic the natural progression of texture changes throughout the tree.
