The last location of our wine day needs no introduction. It began as the cheesiest tour with a welcome video which lasted over 10 min and was narrated by the current owner, also Prince of Luxembourg 🧐🧐🧐. *honhonhonhon*
Unfortunately, our German guide was perfectly boring and gave us a rather lifeless tour of the grounds. Very little history other than the video was discussed. It was kind of sad. Some of her comments were hilariously elitist though. ["of course you know this already. We wouldn't have let you have a tour if you didn't" or "of course we weren't affected by the frost. We are a first growth for a reason"]. 😂🤣😅 We ended with a tasting of what I'm sure would have been a phenomenal wine, but following 2 much more inspiring tours, it just fell really flat. I can only vaguely remember it being smokier and much more masculine than the others with a perfectly balanced fruit to acid ratio. Again though, the tasting was unceremoniously performed without any description from our guide other than "I like zis wein very much", and I felt rushed to drink my glass as she stared at us in silence. Sigh. I just can't seem to turn my luck around with haut Brion! (side story: my first bottle at home was also corked...) better luck next time maybe? 。
