!!! COMING SOON !!! Buddha Shakyamuni — our exclusive collection of 30 cm statues from Nepal
We are happy to announce soon arrival of our exclusive collection of 30 cm statues from Nepal.
Well, I really have no words to express my feelings... It is not an average copy from the tourist shop in Thamel. It is real artistry and I welcome you to get the evidence in this.
This amazingly fine statue of Buddha Shakyamuni was made in Patan (Nepal). Unlike most statues made for the tourists, all the details of this statue — such as the hands, face, etc — are made very carefully and in the details.
Each statue has some space inside to be filled by traditional way. This hole is closed by cover.
Origination — Patan, Nepal
Compositions — Bronze, patina
Height — 30 cm
Weight — 4 kg. approx.
Pre-order is available.

Current altar setup. Books are the Fronsdal translation of the Dhammapada and Padmakara translation of the Bodhicaryavatara. Everything but the mala, books, photograph in the background and stand that the picture of Thây is on (which goes to the set of Pema Chödrön's Compassion Cards) were gifts.
It might seem odd to some to have a picture of a dog on my altar. The photograph is one I took on high school of Reggie, a Tibetan Terrier I had for most of my childhood and who I consider one of my first teachers. He was an example of boundless friendliness and compassion. He was also one of my first meditation teachers. When I first began practicing meditation in high school, he'd inevitably come join me when I practiced. He'd sit facing me and not move until I got up. Almost like he was drawing on some sort of genetic memory of living in the monasteries in the Himalayas. He passed away years ago now, but I still think of him from time to time, and remember those early days of practice with fondness.
Beautiful shot by @agreenforest over in France, of some our limited edition organic prayer flags we had in store recently. - We're currently seeking out a new supplier of this beautiful hand loom cotton that we make them out of and so will hopefully have them available again later this month! 🤞🏻
"All aggregates are impermanent" "All things are devoid of self (atman:'ego' or soul)". This means that if we discard the component elements which form that which we call a man, a horse, a tree, a mountain, a star, or no matter what, if we abstract the qualities which make them perceptible to us, we discover nothing which is distinct from these constituent elements, from these qualities, we do not, in anyway, find the man, the horse, the mountain 'in itself'. These names apply only to a collection of elements.
The classical example given in Buddhist Text is that the wagon which consist of a collection of wheels and their spokes, a pole and so forth, ... Or the house which consist of a frame made of beams, of rafters, of a roof and so forth, but the wagon in itself, the house in itself, where are they?
I the same way, if from a man you take away the physical form, sensations, perception, mental activity and consciousness, what remains? Where will you find the man existing in himself outside the corporality and mentality? #tibetanbuddhism#madhyamika#Buddhism#method#meditation#nagarjuna#philosophy#lamrim#happiness#love#joy#study#dailyquotes
"Karma is not like a judge, doling out punishments and rewards for following or breaking the rules. It’s not as theistic as all that. Karma doesn’t “judge” what you do because it’s not an entity – it’s simply a description of how the minds of sentient beings work. Just as water is always wet, fire is always hot, and planets and stars always have gravity, your mind is always in the flux of karmic cause and effect, always hovering at the juncture between in-folded causes and un-folding effects. You don’t always have a choice about which of your karmic seeds will come to fruition at any given moment – but you do have a choice about how you respond. And based on that response, karma continues to snowball: whatever direction you roll it in, it accumulates more mass, and more momentum. And it never loses an address." ••• from THE FOUR REMINDERS: A SIMPLE BUDDHIST GUIDE TO LIVING AND DYING WITHOUT REGRET ••• Available in paperback and Kindle versions: www.thefourreminders.com ••• #thefourreminders#karma#thethirdreminder#yoga#yogi#yogini#buddhism#tibetanbuddhism#mindfulness#snowballeffect
