These last 2 days I have had the most intense cravings of this #whole30 ---just when I thought I was in #tigerblood territory. Made a #dairyfree#collagelatte tonight with a dollop of #coconutcream and a packet of @vitalproteins collagen. Thanks @flabstofitness for getting me hooked on this stuff! Day 19 - The day I unleashed my TIGER BLOOD.
For those of you who don’t know, Tiger Blood is a term created by Whole30ers to describe the feeling of the incredible fabulous fierce energy that so many people experience a few weeks into the program. I have to admit the past few days have been tough for me. Maybe it was because I was adjusting to starting a new semester at school, maybe I was coming down with a slight cold, but I just wasn’t feeling the Tiger Blood feeling I had around this time in my previous Whole30, which was pretty discouraging. •
Then today it hit me when I was in cycling class. I felt so powerful and so strong like WOW I was slaying that workout. And I thought to myself, “Tiger Blood. This is why you did Whole30. To feel this good!” •
Today reaffirmed why I’ve worked so diligently to make my health and happiness a priority!
Dinner was fabulous - a hash of sweet potato, red onion, and leftover chicken sautéed in olive oil. Some avocado and apple, garnished with arugula and @primalkitchenfoods mayo...YUM! I got my potatoes like that using my mandolin slicer - you could also use a grater!
Either That tiger blood is kicking in, or today's tabata workout wasn't as hard as it usually is (I'm thinking it's my tiger 🐯 blood.) 3.0 miles today + 50 minute pyramids workout! 💪🏻. M1 today; protein muffin, m2; egg & veggie scramble (the usual 🙄,) m3; hb egg, 1/2 an apple, 1 chic nugget 🤦🏽♀️, & a 1/2 cheese stick (I was visiting my brother,) m4; an amazing curry my hubby made over cauli rice, m5; few bites of my sons 🍿 during our movie (it is national popcorn day after all! 💁) and other 1/2 🍎 . Ok so today might have been a little off. I have a very hard time resisting when yummy foods are near me & im hungry. But I am still going strong! This weird thing happened today. I woke up way earlier than normal to present at a meeting at 6:30 am... then I went to work... then I had a conference call... then I prepped dinner... then I felt like going on a run. Like actually WANTED to. Never mind I haven’t exercised consistently for three months ... and it’s a Friday... and it’s evening. An average Friday for me involves crashing at four everyone fending for dinner and being a lazy head all night. What is this madness? Could tiger blood be an actual thing?? #whole30#tigerblood
Tiger blood has definitely kicked in since yesterday! Last night I worked out at 10:30 and today I accomplished so much at work that by the end of the day I started rearranging everything in my office. RARE FORM! but now I’m feeling hungrier than usual.
#JanuaryWhole30 day 19! Wow we are fully energized for our dinner, chicken and green beans with bacon. It's so delicious and the instapot is the best! I love that the kids are improving every day, they are committed every day, and they are locked and loaded for the last 11 days. I’ve had a busy past few days, so I’ve been neglecting to post! Whole30 day 18 today! Staying strong. Not really feeling the #tigerblood yet but I’m feeling good. I came in determined to beat the problem I posted a few days ago. I just started working on 1s but decided to skip right past 2s and tackle this. It was a struggle but I’m feeling super gooood. #tigerblood
Haven’t been posting on my regular page as much as my stories, so here we go, for those that are even interested, haha. #whole30day19 Energy is really even, but I have a case of the sniffles sapping my #tigerblood . I feel leaner & cravings are definitely calming down (Thursday-Sunday had been screaming “treat yoself!” Now it’s only a passing whisper), my body is actually hungry for breakfast in the morning, & I feel like I’m recovering better from my workouts. Following along & logging my progress in my #whole30daybyday has been amazing to 1) keep me honest & 2) seeing my actual progress when I might be feeling that I’m not making much. I even used some space in the back to keep a running “treat yoself” list to keep me motivated without food.

Also, not bragging...but I went out last night with grown ups and didn’t even have a drink. And I had to TALK TO PEOPLE! And I pretended to be a grown up, and except for some bad language, I think I passed it off!
Finally, just for giggles, ask Siri the question in my picture. Don’t ask Alexa though, she’s dumb as a rock. We are very disappointed with her level of knowledge, although we do like the music she plays. Oh, and my husband is convinced that she is a spy working on behalf of big brother, so there’s that. •

Ahhhhh #tigerblood ...everyone’s #tb looks different and for me it definitely comes in waves! Yesterday I was stressed, cranky, and exhausted...today—I feel focused, productive, positive, and motivated. My #NSV are piling up...my face is less puffy, I am less bloated, I am sleeping like a champ, I am not crashing in the afternoon, and my self confidence is growing. So, I’ve been done with my Registered Nurse prerequisites since mid December 2017. I’ve been busy nonstop with work, kids and school for as long as I can remember. Well, I didn’t get accepted into RN school for January start so I have a 3 month break. A break that I was so afraid of...I break that I thought I would drive myself to boredom, but I haven’t. I took on reading, cooking, organizing and relaxing. I’ve always enjoyed reading but it seemed like a chore because i had no time. Now, I have read 3 books this month and can’t wait to start my 4th. I love my local library’s selection. I do have to say...learning to relax and enjoy the moment has been the most difficult since I always want to be on the go. Doing #januarywhole30 during this pace change has been the smartest thing I’ve done. I focus on the kitchen and myself all at the same time while feeding the kids a nutritious meal. I am feeling that #tigerblood thank you @melissa_hartwig for creating something amazing. Day 19of30. Before for lunch I was to tired to even make a sandwich I would grab whatever was instant and ready. Today today I danced around the kitchen cleaning as I made my sloppy joe mix from scratch and my baked potatoe! So much more then just weight loss 😍😍😍

Day 19 of #Whole30 : starting to get some #tigerblood ! The most noticeable thing for me is that I’m waking up and not feeling like I got hit by a truck. Usually, I’m so tired when I wake up and have no problem turning off my alarm and falling right back asleep, hard, even if I got 8.5 hours of sleep! So ridiculous! DH working from home today, and the deal is, he picks up the kids from school today and I’ll make him a decent lunch. Had a bunch of basil, avocado, & cherry tomatoes laying around the kitchen so was excited to find @miketheironyou creamy avocado pesto with #zoodles recipe and it was delicious! Never thought before this Jan that we would be eating such tasty, healthy, vibrant beautiful veggies for lunch! And yes, Mike, this makes for a beautiful summer dish. A girl can pretend right? Besides it’s getting slightly warmer in NYC now. Why, it’s almost spring like weather 🤣!

I woke up this morning feeling like a completely different person than I have for the last two days...could it be #tigerblood 😵 I don’t know what was up but today I am feeling happy, hungry, food is appealing, I was excited to search for recipes in my cookbooks again, everything feels clearer! I even had the desire to run to the store to buy some veggies for an omelet I was craving (broccoli, red onion, mushrooms & garlic!). I’m pretty sure it’s later on in the month that you usually have the “I don’t want to eat anything, nothing is appealing” feeling but clearly I am advanced 🤣 Happy Day 18! #tgif

This morning was cardio flow 😅😅 a building workout that adds one move on at a time but makes you go back and do the entire sequence before you add another exercise! I know a number of you are right in the middle of this #januarywhole30 . How’s it going? Seeing some non-scale victories I hope? Is this your first round or have you done a few? What’s different this time? Hope you are loving it as much as I am!! Since I’m home with our little girl, I’ve been trying new recipes and also utilizing frozen meals I made back in October! A new one for me is this acorn squash stuffed with sausage and apples. YUM! 😋😋 Some of my #nsv so far: skin clearing up, clothes are looser, wedding ring fits again!!, face is thinner, sugar craving squashed, not thinking about food outside of meal time, not snacking, more regular, and tummy feels great!! Can’t say enough good things about this program!! If you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to take 30 days and commit!
Feeling very apprehensive about meeting a friend in town this morning (hence the rare makeup and blow dry). It’s the first time on the @whole30 that I will have to eat out. If all else fails I can get sashimi and a juice! Have a cinema trip with my girls tomorrow evening too. Day 18. ✅ It wasn’t pretty, but I did it. Thank you all so much for all of your thoughtful messages and well wishes. The support and encouragement from this community is incredible! My temperature is back to normal and I’m feeling sooooo much better than I did this morning. Didn’t really have any amazing meals today, but that’s not the point of Whole30, is it? Not going to beat myself up, but instead, going to be proud of myself for sticking with compliant foods when ordinarily I would have been guzzling Gatorade and eating crackers and noodles. That sorta counts as an #NSV , right? 🤔 In all of my previous rounds I’ve never gotten sick so this was a first for me! I hope you all stay healthy this month! 😘 #hungryhappymama
It’s the end of day 16 for me and I’m wondering what this tiger blood is all about. I feel more lethargic this week than I did last and I’m having a lot of trouble waking up in the mornings. I sleep 7-8 hours a night, I don’t workout right before bed anymore, I drink over 100oz of water a day and max one cup of coffee before 9am. if you know me, you know that I was a vegetarian for 12 years and went out on a pulled pork sandwich. That’s how deep this southern girl’s love for soulful cooking is. So when I saw that pork shoulder from a nearby farm was on sale at the local market, I knew I had the perfect opportunity to take @thedefineddish ‘s pulled pork and barbecue sauce for a spin. This was so easy to do in the crockpot but next time I can’t wait to get to use our new Dutch oven for this dish again! The Cole slaw is from the first Whole30 cookbook and the red potatoes were seasoned with truffle salt and pepper and cooked in a 450 degree oven for 15 mins. My love for @thedefineddish blog runs so deep, I even sent my husband to a meet up with her when he was in Dallas for work! As we close out Day 17 of Whole 30, we’re trying to figure out where that good ole’ Tiger Blood is.
