“Pity. No stars. I'd hoped there'd be stars...”
~ The Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi – Doctor Who)
Credit as always to the irrefutably terrific "TheGaroStudios" for this trailer tribute! If this man can make the Twelfth Doctor more likable and the Capaldi Era more likable with just this trailer – since I really dislike the Twelfth Doctor and the first ⅔ of the Capaldi Era – then this man is superb.
The reason why I've mainly disliked this era and very much have had disdain for Capaldi's Doctor is because his Doctor has been uncharacteristic to the character of the Doctor, treating the character of "the Doctor" as a facade, a mask he can willingly put on and off whenever he feels like it, and that being the Doctor is difficult to do.
Even tho with Nine, Ten and Eleven we saw that the character of the Doctor was who they truly were in their hearts. They were compassionate, loving and wanting to save people cause he couldn't stand to see people in pain and peril, and VEHEMENTLY despised weapons and did not uncharacteristically be violent continuously, when not done through progression of character development (even tho Ten never actually became violent, it was simply that he nearly shot either Rassilon or the Master. And Nine's thing with the Dalek was because he's had a long history with them, and they fought in the unseen Time War with his race, causing him to unfortunately destroying both species). The Twelfth Doctor seems to nearly be trying to be more like Classic Doctors, which is probably why Gallifrey was saved before Twelve's arrival. Because the whole point of the Time War in the gap between Classic and NuWho was that it changed the Doctor, and made him an advocate against violence, and made that the core of the character from the modern series onwards.
So I'm rather looking forward to Jodie's Doctor.
I'M SO READY!
Just finished Series 10! Ready for the Christmas special then this beaut makes her debut!
Sad to see Capaldi go tho, & I actually liked Bill. Glad she got a happy ending. Can't wait to see what Nardole gets up to either. "You might be A doctor, but I am THEE Doctor. The Original, you might say."
