You have a moment to take it all in. But just a moment. The best day of your life comes and goes in a blink of an eye. But that moment, that feeling- hold on to that.
This weekend treated me well. Gorgeous evenings both nights- first with an engagement session and then a wedding. Now today's looking a bit on the gloomy side but you'll find me sitting behind my computer screen all day editing!
Last but not least! Today, let's talk about anxiety. I'm unsure if I've already talked about this before, but I don't care and you can just scroll away, this is my account. Back off 😃
For the past couple of years I've suffered from huge anxiety attacks. I have no idea why they happen, but my close friends and family already know and have experienced them. It's like all my senses are elevated. I hear all sounds at once, I smell everything and everything smells awful. My sight is like tunnel vision and I feel very sick. I get super nauseous and feel like I have to throw up. This all revolves around food. I went to the doctors asking what the crap the problem is and they prescribed me xanax and I don't think it helped. I know this is a mental thing but it ruins so many things for me where I have to leave early, I put Mikayla in an awkward position and it sucks. But one thing does help me, and it is Mikayla. Marriage isn't just butterflies and rainbows. Marriage is helping each other through the garbage of life. Through sickness and in health. This woman has helped me so much and I can't thank her enough. If you suffer with something similar, please talk to me. I'd love to know how you cope and what works best. Because I am all ears. I'm tired of this crap. Peace. ✌️
Guys, some of my best high school friends are getting married! And I am honored that I get to be their photographer! Another engagement session in downtown Toledo tonight- what a perfect evening with this gorgeous couple who is getting married in less than a year now!
that moment when you use smoke bombs on a beach and the midges (aka worst bugs ever) swarm you and the smoke burns your eyes and you're all scared of getting arrested so you have to stick the smoke bombs in the sand but it's worth bc the photos are 🙌🏻 (don't worry we threw them away afterwards 🙈)
In honor of some new headshots by my girl @itskyleedaniels , I think I'm due for some #fridayintroductions
Hey there! I'm Amanda- wedding and senior photographer serving Northwest Ohio and beyond. But no, let's not stop there. I'm also a registered nurse certified in oncology. Yes, I absolutely love my day job taking care of the sweetest patients in the world. And yes, I also love my evening and weekend job of being a photographer. Many keep asking me if someday I will just do photography. And to be honest right now, I can't answer that. Because as long as I love what I'm doing and my patients AND clients feel they are being loved and served well, then I'm just gonna keep doing my thang! Who said you can't tap into both sides of your brain anyway?
"Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive."
Reminiscing on all of the amazing summer weddings & events I've had the opportunity to be a part of along with the incredible couples and team of vendors I've met along the way. 💕

we wandered through a sweet record store, hung out with a cat, and roamed the beach for the afternoon a few days back. can't wait to show you all this awesome 70s-inspired engagement session with these peeps soon 🕺(there really should be a disco ball emoji....)
we had an awesome time shooting with dylan + amy (and momma, their cat 😍) in their tiny home tonight! they've built their gorgeous home together over the past year, and it was awesome to see their creative touch and personality in their space. follow their adventures @operation_atlas ❤️
I can't believe my baby sisters friends are all growing up! This beauty is one of my youngest sisters besties and I was so excited to take her out for some senior photos this evening. If you can believe it - she is even more of a beautiful person on the inside than she is on the outside!
So let's talk about travel. Holy crap what a month. @mikdonaldson and I traveled to California, Hilton head, Savannah Georgia, and New Hampshire this last month and it has been more than amazing. We got to hang out with awesome friends, meet and make new friends and just experience new culture. I think my favorite place we visited was Joshua Tree. There is nothing like a Joshua Tree sunset. One thing I think I learned from my trips is to get alone time and be in the moment. Some parts of our trip it felt a little rushed, and we felt like we couldn't slow down. So my pro tip for anyone going to travel. Slow the frick down. Take a moment or two and just breathe. Stare at the sunset for 30 minutes. Close your eyes and take deep breaths. It's so important because how are you gonna remember something if you just fly by it? My favorite part of the California trip was when we were done shooting and I was standing on a road. Everyone else was heading back to the car but I took an extra 2 minutes and just stopped and stared. Those 2 minutes made my trip. Anyways, I'm done ranting. 2/3
Sailing with your love, breeze flowing through your hair, sun sparkling on the water...what could be more romantic?! Love everything about these two lovebirds and their stunning nautical engagement session! ✨💕⚓️ #bethjoyphotography#bethjoyengagements
When you look at yourself, what do you see? Those wrinkles around your eyes? That piece of hair that never seems to fall in place? We are all our own worst critic. I'm working on changing my thinking. That those crows feet around my eyes and wrinkles around my mouth are the result of the joy and laughter I've experienced in my life. It's amazing when you change your thinking to a more positive outlook how much more joy you can experience in this life.
It's fridayyy!!! I am so freakin stoked to go see #edsheeran tomorrow! Ahhh he's been my fav for so long and I finally get to go to his concert!
Also since they're besties, I'm hoping T swift decides to make an appearance with him 😁 #agirlcandream @teddysphotos #taylorswift @taylorswift #cleveland#concert
I could say this was just a beautiful stoll in the park, but in reality, this is their parents' driveway. They have a beautiful property we got to wander around and take pictures on Sunday. Doesn't matter how pretty your backdrop is... it's all about that light! Which came out just in time for our session!
Gabrielle and Tyson tie the knot in a few short days and I can't wait!! We had such a blast during their engagement session and I am just thrilled my friend found the one! Favorites on the blog!
Are you guilty of being captive to this digital world and NOT printing your images? I am in love with these prints from @artifactuprising There's nothing like the feel and look of your images in tangible print.
Raise your hand if the endless scroll through your instagram feed leaves you feeling defeated, discontent, and unaccomplished. I don't know about you, but I often fight that battle (more than I like to admit). What is used for joy and inspiration (as it should be) can quickly turn into comparison and, well, let's face it- envy. Envy is the evil stepsister to discontentment. So today, let's focus on the good- the fact that we are worthy and can be used exactly where we are in our journey.
This is one of those weeks where I need all the coffee, my brain isn't fully functioning, and I kind of want to ignore all social media 🙈 So because my brain isn't functioning enough to actually think of a good caption tonight... here's one of my favorite images from Chae and Jim's wedding earlier this month!! I'm pretty sure their wedding day will always be one of my favorites!! 💕 Now it's off to bed 😴
