Flashback to The Women in Toys gala at Toy Fair in NYC, where Mario, Donna and I saw the legendary Jill Barad, ex-CEO of Mattel, glass-ceiling crusher and just a really wonderful, generous person overall. @mariogesualdi @dwittlin
One of Mario's beautiful retro #Barbie dolls shows off her cute retro hat. @mariogesualdi makes reproduction patterns for vintage dolls. Yesterday he gave me a sneak peek of his new collection! More photos to come. #vintagebarbie#dollpattern
Spent a wonderful morning working as a "palletizer" at The Play your Part LA event. I and dozens of other volunteers packed palettes full of toys for foster children around the country. Here are a few photos to give you a feel for the day. So much fun and for such a great cause! #playyourpartla#volunteeringisfun
The other day I came home with two dozen children's books from the library. They're research for a new project. If all goes well I'll be able to add "children's book illustrator" to my list of skills! #childrensbooks
I'm seeing these inflatable donuts everywhere! I've spotted them at the beach and in the social stratosphere, but I saw them first st New a York Toy Fair all the way back in February. They were cute then. They're cute now. Here's a #Repost @cakiesblog. And did you know @michaelsstores currently sell these cute floaties for $5?! #cutestuff#summerfun
After years of the same profile photo I decided a change was in order. Since I'm a freelance doll designer/illustrator I think it makes sense to use one of my doll illustrations as my "tag". I designed this cute girl a few years ago. She features prominently on my mini moo business cards and my website. What do you think of the new profile image? Is it a good switch or do you prefer the photo of my face?
