Traditionally, the 'Ula' necklaces were a symbol of status and wealth in Samoa. Samoans wear Ula necklaces made from numerous products found on the island, such as tooth, leaves, fruit, and seeds. ⠀

I spent the weekend at my Nana and Grandpa's farm—it's one of my favorite places in the world, and where it all began. About a century ago my great grandparents' left their homes in northern Italy to make a life for themselves in Rossiter, Pennsylvania. My great grandpa worked in the mines, saving up enough money to purchase 14 acres of land—land that has my heart to this day. After his passing, my great grandma, Evalina Rose Caretti DiMeco, took to the chicken business in order to provide for her six children: Edith, Elaine, Inez, Henrietta, Lillian, and John. Raising over 3,000 chickens at a time, she would wake up well before sunrise to tend to the farm, taking just one day off each year. While I never had the chance to meet my great grandma, I like to think that her story lives on in my small backyard flock.
Enjoying America's favorite past time today at Fenway Park. What I love most about sporting events is that it brings people together. All walks of life, backgrounds, opinions and perspectives. I love this type of community, the excitement and pride we feel rooting for our home teams, and that we can all just hangout for a beautiful afternoon and enjoy a game of baseball. .
Where do you find community? .
Through tears, I will attempt to put into words what Fiddler has meant to me. This show has brought me so much joy and realizations that I never thought could be gained. I have had the pleasure of working with such a loving, talented, and hilarious cast that have become my family the past month. It's going to be hard not seeing them everyday. Fiddler has taught me that the same issues of the show are still so relevant today and we must work to solve these problems. This show has impacted me drastically, and goes into the books as my favorite show I've done so far. I wish all of the cast & crew the best, and hope to work with each of you again soon! ❤️ #LeavingAnatevka#Tradition#Faith#Hope#Courage
