"Tragical". ЧС4-132 leading slowly a passenger train as it approaches to Kyiv-pas. station, 11.08.2017.
📓🚅This electric locomotive is a participant of the "black" Saturday of Odessa railway (Ukrzaliznitsya) in August 21, 1982, when there were two interconnected crashes.
At 6:30 there was a head-on collision of two freight trains at the station Shalashskaya Khristinovskaya distance due to the error of the driver (red signal passage) of one of them. The driver-culprit of the collision died on the spot, the rest members of crews remained alive. The collision of freight trains caused a change in the timetables and routes for the movement of passenger trains all over the region. As a result of the butterfly effect, after 2 hours at Tsvetkovo station the passenger train, led by ЧС4-132, crashed into the tail of the other, the delay in the departure of which was connected with the first catastrophe. 22 passengers were killed. The driver, who was responsible for the collision of passenger trains, was sentenced to jail. His mistake was later the use of emergency braking, because previously, he already had disciplinary punishments and was afraid of new penalties.
