From end to the beginning of the day. Emilie, tre anni, and I bonded over bubbles while listening to the live music of @roamanmusic in #trastevere . My friend, @dario_photo, bonded with the adults while I played and danced and laughed and played more with the little one. We took a picture to remember the moment, because it was genuine and sweet and pure (photo 1). The photo will remain hanging in the bar (of which we purchased beer in beforehand and had no idea the parents were the owners, life's little coincidences, ;)). Beforehand, I watched a dear friend from Fall 2016 in Rome, @franktavis, perform near the Pantheon, the place I fell in love with Rome and have spent endless nights talking to strangers and hiding from rain and falling in love with life and people; the video sharing @franktavis' voice, singing hallelujah- the song I played on repeat during November and December of 2016 as I walk from Piazza Bologna to San Pietro, a 1.5hr walk, the walk that I still attribute to connecting me with my body, that made me fall in love with what it was capable of doing, the walk that allowed me to meet so many amazing and not so many amazing humans that opened my eyes to the reality of different lives in this city. And to the third picture, my dear, dear, dear homeless friend who has been my only constant friend in my life (other than my work) here in Italy. He tells me when he thinks my outfit is all wrong for my body type, he buys me flowers, he always shares a smile with me, and I will forever treasure the friendship that has developed between us, regardless of how simple it is. A typical day in Rome, covering double digits of walking in miles and km. I encountered, hugged, laughed, and chatted with so many more people but these are the only photos I have!!!A day in Roma, some of it anyhow. I want to remember. So, I post....#trastevere#streetmusic#busker#roma#rome
Party night is every night in Trastevere, Rome. And with the revelling comes a whole bunch of litter, most of it single use plastic. Just look at the straws that are visible in this one garbage can of which there are countless all around the area. 7 straws plus 2 on the ground. We can do better. Ditch the plastic straw. For the love of Earth.
