Been a sleeping zombie 😵the past few weeks since I started doing the graveyard shift. But feeling so grateful with all of life's blessings and with the direction I can see ahead of me. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Here's a pic of the Duomo hidden within the streets of Florence. Definitely one of my favorite cities in Italy! A stunning city full of history, art, and incredible food! Had the most delicious pizza with the softest dough here! 😋😋😋🤤

📝 Sharonacita’s suggestions / tips / #consejos for carefree and #authentic living, 31 / 40: 🗺 Travel alone! Maybe not every trip, but at least one time in your life, take a solo vacation, and I can pretty much guarantee you that it will be an experience of a lifetime! You will learn so much about yourself, you will probably meet more people, you will appreciate your solitude in a totally different way, you will be more aware of the things / people / sounds / smells around you, and you will come away from your trip more confident, more accomplished, and more self-aware!
Go to whatever museum you want or skip the museums altogether. Wake up at the butt-crack of dawn to get a head start on the day or just sleep in til noon. Walk 5 kilometres to reach your destination on the sunny side of the road or take an expensive Uber to the other side of the country because you woke up feeling a bit under-the-weather (that’s this foto’s story). Do want you want, when you want, in the way you want! Be liberated. Carefree. Open. Yes, travelling alone has it’s perils too, but that’s not what this post is about 😅 👣#travelalone#solotravel#wordstoliveby#40daysto40 👣

Two interesting facts about this beautiful piece of architecture. One, the Koutoubia Mosque built in the 12th century is the tallest building of Marrakech, standing a proud 70 meters. No building in the city is allowed to surpass the height of the Minaret. Secondly, the original mosque built by the Almoravid dynasty was torn down by its conquerors to erase the traces of this previous reign and among other reasons, because it was 5 degrees off alignment to facing Mecca. Funnily, the newly built mosque now is misaligned by 10 degrees. I wonder how they were able to scientifically measure such parameters that time.
South Loop, Chicago: My last Open House stop this weekend was at the Wheeler Mansion! The home was originally built in 1870, and is one of the only mansions that was not destroyed in the Chicago fire (and has not since been torn down!) It almost faced this fate in 1997 to become a parking lot (😱) but it was purchased, restored for two years, and turned into the beautiful bed and breakfast it remains today. I for one love staying in B&Bs when I travel - I'd pick one over a hotel any day! If you're visiting Chicago this is certainly a pricey option, but offers a lot of history and its location would be perfect if you were in town for a sports game or concert at Soldier Field. #hungerlustchicagosouth#OHC2017#southsidechicago
