My Favorite Costa Rica Pics Countdown
No. 16- Being right in the Ring Of Fire, CR has several active volcanoes but Poas was one of the quiet ones. Little did we know that just days after this pic was taken, Poas would wake up in spectacular fashion closing the park and dramatically changing it’s appearance forever. This is how it looked shortly before.

This was a beautiful sight after four hours of hiking uphill at 16000 ft....our home for the night. Ahhh, almost there for lunch and rest. There was a small village near by, and a football match was our entertainment in the afternoon. A highlight of this trip was meeting and supporting the local people who still spoke Quechua. It's incredible that this village survives in such a remote place. The clouds eventually dispersed, and the night sky was bright that evening. The tents were sooo comfortable...it was hard to get up and leave at 4 am to trek to rainbow mountain, which was right behind these mountains. We headed up in the dark and arrived at rainbow mountain at 7 am before anyone else. 🇵🇪 #peru#hiking#trekking#glamping#andes#mountains#alpaca#passionpassport#PPRemotePlaces @passionpassport #travelgram#traveladventure#instatravel#exploreperu#travelgoals#flashpackerconnect
