6.26.2017 || Took a few days off from touring and rode trailer free through the Black Hills. Took a while to build some mountain confidence but by the end of the day I was bombing down hills at 35 mph.
I spent the last few day in #Denali national park and I lake words to describe how magnific the #wilderness of that place is! So I'll leave this picture of Denali at sunrise and a quote I've seen there and resonated deep within my soul... "Wilderness is necessary for our soul. It allows us to be in touch with something much greater, much more powerful than us: the sublime! Without wilderness we forget our true selves." #nofilter#intothewild#peaceandbici#bikesutras
Miss the loneliness of the mountains and the silence! The backcountry of Portugal is beautiful and the people are nice even though i don't understand a word. Lots of tiny villages where the people grow their own stuff. Vegetables, wine even tobacco. But if you come closer to the sea its not a touring country. If you take backroads the navigation is very confusing and mostly you end on cobble stone streets or have to manage crazy steep climbs when in the mountains. If you take bigger national roads there is a lot of traffic, no shoulder and the streets are pretty damaged. The crazy drivers give a damn shit about you. After the time in the mountains i rode back to the sea and heading Porto. It was just horrible!
