Day 3: Tokyo. This morning we went to Akihabara, aka the electric city, and nerded out over all the anime and pop culture stuff. Then, in a juxtaposition typical of being in Tokyo, we went to the Imperial Palace gardens, before going for dinner in a little restaurant where we ordered some mystery meat skewers, scallop croquettes and our first sake of the holiday. A couple sitting next to us at the bar overlooking the tiny kitchen offered us some of their fish, which we sadly had to decline as we had no idea how to eat a whole, unfilleted fish with chopsticks. I think they were quite amused by the clueless English people attempting to speak terrible Japanese to the waitress. Points for trying though, right?
Today's dispatch is from Customer Service Director Naomi Addyman, who's currently up north on a recce for work - yes, work! The Tohoku region is home to some gorgeous places, including this stunning lake. Any guesses as to where?

And we're back home! Let's look back at this vacation: we concluded that a family visit and staying with family could not be called a real vacation. Yes, we were in a totally different country and didn't have to work. But staying at my brothers house, with two families crammed into a two bedroom apartment, temperatures above 32°c, two pregnant ladies and two kids under 2y there was not much time (and space) to relax. It was intense but worth it to see and spend time with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew after the 1,5 years. Don't know when we will see them again irl, due to the baby's that are on the way. Our little toddler man was the perfect traveler. He didn't bet an eye when he had to be in the plane for 12h and didn't complain about the heat. Now we have to beat the jetlag, worst ever!!! Not only I have a jetlag, but baby also turned het day/night rhythm upside down. Joy ✨! Oh btw, I found these cute signs in the #tolocafe where we ate the Totoro cream puffs.
