This has been a crazy journey!
We had to come back to the states and board our house up for Hurricane Irma.
Our flights got cancelled to South America, but we took that as a sign to volunteer helping our neighbors in Florida who were effected by the hurricane.
We're setting off on our next adventure, but we can't help to think about how blessed we are to have been able to fly home when needed and help our friends and family.

I am not a supporter of confined spaces for animals, one main reason why I never kept a pet. I am ideologically opposed to animals caged in zoos but I am also aware the role zoos can serve to sensitise children. As a child I was a regular zoo visitor and that definitely helped me in becoming a animal lover. Thankfully, Cambodia does not have zoos but there are a number of conservation centers where one can get close with wildlife. This is a rescued Malayan Porcupine at the Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity. The pricky rodent is native to South East Asia, but an endangered species in Cambodia now.
