GOAL: Hike a 14er this summer. ✔️ Mt. of the Holy Cross was spectacular and worth the effort! We backpacked in on Friday with a 2000 ft elevation gain and drop to the campsite. Woke up the next morning for the 4000 ft hike to the summit. Climbing & scrambling. . . step by step, breath by breath, moment by moment to reach the top. Then back down the 4000 ft to the campsite, packed up and hiked back up 2000 ft and down again to the trailhead.
The challenges and triumphs. . . without one you won't have the other. There is beauty in the balance.
We had so much fun with this beautiful, strong, inspiring group that came to MInd+Body+Brew on Sunday @horsedragonbrew. They showed up for themselves, brought an awesome attitude and rocked the class!
When we share experiences and give in to needing support from each other in our personal lives and within our community, we can reach higher, achieve more and shine brighter!

How unhappy are you willing to allow yourself to become before you to decide to do something about it? For years I was unhappy with who I was. Physically, emotionally and mentally. I had spent so much energy battling myself. Never feeling good enough, skinny enough, happy enough. I was trying to fit into someone else’s box. And it was exhausting.
I remember the day that I decided to make serious changes. I enlisted the help of a personal trainer to seek proper guidance in my health journey and it was the best investment I ever made. The trajectory of my journey shifted. My awareness for who I was, what my body was capable of, how strong I could feel, changed. I felt empowered. And it became evident. Physically. Emotionally. Mentally.
I lost 30 pounds. I was running races, when before I ‘hated’ running. I was having fun cooking delicious, nutrient dense food. And I was happier than I had been in years. I was becoming my true self.
This is when I decided that someday I would be a personal trainer. I wanted to help people find themselves. To show them they are strong and capable. And you know what? I have created a reality that allows me to do just that. Now I get to share my journey in hopes that it helps to inspire others to take that leap and do the same.

As we celebrate freedom and independence as a nation on this 4th of July, I'm taking some time to look closely at the meaning of freedom for myself and how I share it with others.
I am blessed to live in the United States and with that comes advantages and opportunities many in the rest of the world don't have. What am I doing with these gifts to help contribute to the world in a larger way? Am I making a difference? Am I living a life of passion and purpose? Am I grateful for each day, for all that I have?
Or do I take for granted the freedom I have been afforded? Do I forget to be grateful to those who came before me? Do I neglect the present moment where I can help someone in need? Do I become embroiled in the day-to-day "problems" and miss the beauty & possibility that sit at my door?
What can I do to realize my own personal freedom? What can I do to help others see their truth? How can I be more compassionate and loving?
In simply asking the questions, taking a few minutes to contemplate what it all means, & to find some answers for ourselves, we can move closer to awareness, to peace, to love and true freedom. This comes not only for ourselves but for everyone we touch!
May your day be filled with joy, peace and compassion for yourself and everyone you encounter!
With love & happiness from me to you,
P.S. I'd love to hear what freedom means for you!
