Righty hoo: 13 weeks of training, 56 runs, 587km (364 miles) 2 solid weeks of tapering. Have I done enough?? Can't stop comparing the training to Stirling and therefore it's fair to say I'm crapping myself so no expectations, except finish the job, take in the scenery and soak up the atmosphere!
Good luck to everyone racing / running tomorrow, here, there wherever you are. Run strong, run happy!! 💜💪🏃👍
Buy me a lotto ticket, after running 13x half’s, and now a FULL marathon all inside a year, I feel like a millionaire! 🤑 Feeling rich with memories, proud of our efforts, grateful for an injury-free year, and so very humbled by the messages of support from afar and those who met us at the finish line 😍 Post race details to come soon, right now we’re just basking in the glory! 🏅
#fbf Let’s talk about getting to mile 20 full of energy and hyped up!!! @lilo1027 yelling #trustthetraining Something we preached throughout the marathon training. It’s more than just trusting the training, it’s trusting in yourself. Believing that you can do 26.2 Miles! This is one of my favorite pics because her energy surpassed our expectations! Here she is, first time marathoner, doing exactly what we told her; stay relax, stay at a steady pace, keep your nutrition/hydration on point and more importantly have fun!!! Proving that no matter how fast or slow you are, it’s all about sticking to your own individual plan!
I’m still hyped from seeing all of you that did the NYC Marathon!🙌🏼❤️💯
Congrats again and again!!!
You earned that Bling!!🏅🙌🏼
Seems right to throw back to Stirling Marathon in May, very unflattering pic just before the finish line but boy, it was one of the happiest moments ever!
I'm no where near as fit as I was then and I'm also carting extra weight #carbsarelife 🤣. Valencia is meant to be my fun marathon... Is there such a thing?!? Still gonna give it my best!! Happy Thursday all, long weekend starts now! YESSSS!! #restday#tbt#marathontraining#trustthetraining#asics#truesapien
Happy hump day people!
Quite windy and chilly out there tonight buuuuuuttttt last run in the UK, next one will be an easy 5k in sunny Valencia... Woop woop, can't wait.
Run went well tonight, now to go and get packing!! Bring it on 👊
Thank you @sjdeuchrass for introducing me to @steigensport socks. I was so excited to see them at the @aucklandmarathon expo, and bought up large! I always recommend these puppies to anyone who passes ⭐️⭐️⭐️ bonus extra: blister free guarantee!
Throwing it back to The Great Women's 10k 2016.
@straighttalkingblonde and I ran it together, we had an absolute blast, running with friends is the best! Can't wait to get out with her again... Not long until she smashes her #c25k
@louise_t675 and @jabeymcq had an awesome run!! Great day in the Scottish sunshine!
No running for me tonight, didn't manage to squeeze it in before parents eve!
Hope you've all had a wicked day!! 😁
T is for TAPER TIME! 2 weeks of tapering woohoo 🎉
Didn't need to run tonight... Weather was horrid so thought it'd be a good challenge to get out in it. Better get used to it, London training begins December! 💨☔
Another easy 5k ☑
Happy hump day people, hope you've had a good one 👊
What are your pre-race rituals? Twelve races in one year has meant I’ve carved out a couple of pre-race rituals:
1. Lay out your running gear the night before 👟🎽
2. Eat a banana on the way to the event 🍌
3. Blast a tune (headphones or car) to get into the right headspace 🚗🎶
There was a turn of events yesterday as I paced the 3 hour group at the #3tvhalfmarathon . The 2:50 pacer was struggling, I saw him taking breaks and hunching over. I was scared for him, but he insisted he was ok, but he told me he was about 7 minutes behind his pace time. So I took a huge risk and asked if he would switch times with me. He thanked me and we switched signs. This meant that at mile 9, I had to up my pace by 2 minutes a mile to catch up with the other 2:50s. For 3 miles. I had gas in the tank and started to push! Every person I passed I chatted with and explained my plan and told them they will see me when I slowed down. Each one asked me about the other pacer who hurting. Gosh, runners are a caring bunch. I ran with one gal who was struggling, we both turned the corner and saw the chute, I told her she would easily finish sub-2:50, and I sent her on her way. Turned around and started looking for more orange bibs (the 1/2'ers) and ran a guy in cause he was on track for sub-2:50. The 10k'ers were all running in and I spotted one other 1/2'er, I screamed out "A 1/2 marathon runner is coming through and she's going to sub-2:50!" We both ran through, she made her goal and we high-fived each other. .
Pacing has been a fun and rewarding way for me to give back to my community. .
20 miles in the bag! And a long post.. Sorry!
Plan said 18k today but needed to do it, after last week's long run fail.
Must admit there was a lot of stopping (2 toilet stops, which I never do 😂) so add 12 mins to that time and it would be 2:54:08 pace 5:24 (min/km)
With Hansons I trained hard and raced easy (except for the last 10k... That was hard) with Asics I'm training easy and plan to race hard. Honestly though, I don't like this plan, committed to it so I wasn't running almost every day but bring back high mileage, speed work and a challenge! Can you run a marathon, running average 30 miles per week??? Watch this space 😜
Happy Sunday peeps 🌞
