FEELS DAMN GOOD! What we did this weekend was a 1st of it's kind EVENT! -
To say that I am PROUD of what we accomplished would be a complete understatement to say the least. -
This was one of those things where very few believe that you can or will have the dedication to see it through. -
I am thankful to have been brought on to help bring this event to life. -
Being that this had never been done before the turn out was not what we of course hoped for but ...NOW that all have seen the concept with their own eyes, everyone wishes they had been there and can't wait for us to put on another one. --- Bringing this event to a life proves beyond a doubt that if you have the back bone and mental toughness to do the work, you can truely #dobigthings . -
I would like to thank all of those who came out to support our efforts to do good things for the maritime community. -
I personally thank all of the men in the photos above. Thank you to the competitiors who traveled so far and put in some much heart. -
Special thanks to @marklarmeu of @hookedupharddown and @captkenny_and_ladonne for including me in such a great venture. -
Now we have PROVED the concept, now they all see our vision. Now they know! Lets go out and kick some ass to get ready for the NEXT ONE! -- #maritimethrowdown#hookedupandharddown#anchoredinmuscle#dobigthings#coolmariners#maritime#maritimeworkers#offshoretug#offshorelife#tugboat#tuglife#saltlife#offshoretug#offshorefishing#Iam1stphorm#bethe1
“Dredge Barge” (2017)
This tug and what I assume is a dredge barge has been anchored near The Dalles Dam lately... either for clearing the shipping channel or possibly dredging behind the dam, possibly near the powerhouse intake openings.
***Should have been a blog 🤣😉😁*** Almost 5 years ago, @mscoffee23 gave me a word of encouragement during a time of personal fasting. She compared me to a tugboat, a small boat with the power and strength to pull boats larger than itself. But, she didn't speak to my power, but feelings of frustration. Spoke to the frustration that I could be feeling as I watched others, other boats speed off, zooming past me, fulfilling things that I'd hope to accomplish. But, she told me that I was a tug purposed to move a cruise ship, a large vessel... a large vision, but I had to wait for just the right wave to propel me forward, to give me just the right lift to carry my charge safely.
In recent weeks, my pastor @dhariusdaniels has spoken about being a Gladiator. Each week something speaks to this interesting season of life. Today, I'm challenged to identify my oxgoad (Judges 3:31 - Google it), what's the thing that makes me awkward, different from those who have a "similar" resume/make up/life, but God intends to use for His glory and my good. I doing so I must drop the labels/names given to me by others that God Himself hasn't. I must look at times of battles not as wars, but as scrimmages, giving me hands on experience to be my very best self, for when the battle actually happens.
