⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ┋What does it mean to be iconic? The Oxford Dictionary states it as “relating to the nature of an icon”, but seriously, who can relate to Billie Kay and Peyton Royce?
Let me tell you what it means to be iconic. I mean, would you rather have an ancient dictionary jumble some words, or would you rather hear nothing but fact from someone living the life of an icon? That’s what I thought! Being iconic means that I’m better than you; in every way. You’ve won a gold medal, I’m platinum, baby. You’re struggling to make financial ends meet, I wipe my face with one-hundred dollar bills.
Who else remembers when I debuted at NXT? That fresh faced, smiling joy. Ah, such loving times. My debut match against Sasha Banks. You hear that? My debut match, was against the then NXT Women’s Champion. And did you hear the crowd chanting “let’s go black shorts”? I had no name, but they still loved me. Well guess what buttercup? Times change. It’s no longer “let’s go black shorts”, it’s pleading, and begging for me. You all want me, you all crave me, you plead for me to hold the gold. Soon my petals.
But since my debut, what have I learnt? Bad girls get the job done. And we sure as hell look good doing it! Did you really expect oh-so-precious, smiling KC Cassidy to get to where I am today? You need to make a name for yourself. And you can bank on that when I say I’ve done that. After all, it’s not showing off, if you can back it up.
Yet now that the season of festivities is officially upon us, it’s time to think of others. But not just anybody. Ew, I’m sorry I don’t associate myself with worthless scum. Oh no no, I only acknowledge antagonists. And good ones. I mean, who wants Jared Leto when you can have Heath Ledger?
So when I acknowledge someone’s existence which isn’t my own, you’d best do your homework honey. I see potential, I see evil, I see, hmm what do I see? I see the time of evil rising.
That’s what being iconic means, and you can believe that.
