I have always believed that prep is easier than off-season. it's rare you will be so peeled in prep that you can go too far (at u80kg anyway). Off season you definitely can get too fat. Off season last year with Rob was the last opportunity for me to see if I genuinely wanted to be a bodybuilder after an extended break; if I could commit to an offseason, I knew I could nail prep.
Off season is truly where you see the commitment of someone towards the sport. It tests you; your photos are not as awesome to share, the relentless need (in my case) to eat that amount of food and progress my lifts...all for being a bit better in months time on stage.
Oh yeah, and you need photos like this to remind yourself you are not a fat turd 7 weeks into your off season. 🙈 #teamlrf#ukbodybuilding#ukbff#bodybuilding
85/86kg. A number of external stresses recently has simply killed my appetite, but this week was a turning point. I am back running at full pelt mentally and now I have a show locked down it's on. "Civilise the mind, savage the body"
Pretty much agreed with Rob when my next show is. There is lots of talk about bodybuilding politics which generally bores me, and from what I can gather the "changes" don't really affect me. Weight classes suit me more than height, I am just an average bodybuilder enjoying getting better so pro cards are irrelevant to me. My next show will be a ukbff show, u80kgs. It is likely to be in April 2018.
Therein ends me ever mentioning bodybuilding politics again. 😂

Stay strong, stay focused
Taken about a year ago. I've had a lot hard hitting sessions since then.
Want to build a bigger back? There isn't a king exercise. There are loads of king exercises. Pick some and get good at them. Then try others.
#1 Use the full range of motion.
#2 Use a lighter weight BUT contract harder.
#3 Pull with your elbows.
#4 Learn to control your scapula.
There's probably more tips but that will do for now.
