It's easy for me to write about hard work/discipline etc blah blah but life is bigger than the gyms four walls. Let's just dominate every arena we find ourselves in. I'd hate to be alpha af in the gym and shy from challenges in the working world. Working the back muscle is interesting as we can only see the outcome when somebody else shines light on it. Just because we may not see the result of our efforts in other arenas, doesn't mean it's going unnoticed. Just got to keep chipping away "like Amanda in saw three..urghh"

Behind the sparkles, tan and heels;

They don't tell you the true strain competing has on your body, mind and personal life. 
I'm now four weeks out and it's starting to hit me. I almost forgot what this feeling was like; not being able to lift as much as I could a week ago, the brain fog, the tantrums,  watching the clock for my next meal. 
However what I have learnt from 2016 is how to balance this and not fall into the abiss as I did before. I may have this strain, but it will always happen so matter what methods you use for prep; I'm now able to control it and it's not as extreme as it once was. 
This is what I want to enable others to do so they don't go 5 steps forward and 15 steps back.

I did some deadlifts today. Did 8 sets of 3, starting at 105 and ending at dizzying heights of 112. It is so depressing how hard this is. But on the plus side I managed to maintain technique for all the sets pretty much. ๐Ÿ˜•

Fully assembled my floor lamp all by myself....only to realise I had missed out all the connectors so had to dismantle and re-assemble! But it is now up and it works! ๐Ÿ’ก I have also cleaned my entire bedroom and cleared out all my drawers etc, felt like a spring clean/clearout/excuse to buy more things was needed ๐Ÿ‘€ now eating lunch of a biiig salad of butter lettuce, locally grown cucumber, spiralized roasted beets, lemon pepper and coconut vinegar and topped with a paprika spiced 96% lean beef burger and reduced guilt @traderjoeslist kale and spinach dip. ๐Ÿ’œ

It's easy to forget who people really are with social media. If someone is into health and fitness, their social media tends to be dominated by such. This is normal because in most cases people are running a business and branding is so important. It can make us appear one dimensional though so it's nice to look at the other aspects of people's lives too. Something most people don't know (unless you know me since childhood!) is that I love art. Granted its been a while and my perfectionist attitude causes me to give up hope on many pieces but nonetheless, I love it. I always say I will get back into it but I never do...lets change that! I am more than a fitness freak or the girl who's recovering from anorexia. I like Art. I like science. I like movies (with the right people. I'm obsessed with Buffy. I'm a metal head deep down. But I occasionally dance and fail msierably. I'm a writer yet I never did a degree in anything like it (don't let anything stand in your way lads) . I used to do gymnastics and miss it. I am no longer allowed get fish because they always die on me, but I think deep sea fish are awesome. I love physics but I'm terrible at it (why so many equations?!) and most of all I am a friend - an old one, a new one and hopefully a future one. Peace โœŒ๏ธ

We had already completed Shaun Week 2 but we needed to get something in and I found Joel's 8x8 on BOD and it was purrrrfect!! I was surprised 23 minutes had me sweating!! I used to worry about getting bulky but women are not built that way!  I love my weights and I'm in my 40s... this is the best way to keep those bones strong too!

Ladies do you lift?  What's your favorite part to work?  Mine is back! .

Spent 3 hours at the hairdresser's, ended up staring at myself so much that I realised that my right eye is smaller than the left (sorry but where else are you supposed to look?!) Good times. Also got slightly blonder hair as a result (couldn't have emphasised 'natural' more than I did when they asked what I wanted ๐Ÿ˜‚) and realised (once again) that small talk really isn't for me ๐ŸŒš
Anyway - I was walking around in central London and saw this phrase written on a wall: 'Where are you? Be here'. Sounds cliche af but it really resonated with me. I know I often get way too caught up in thinking about what ifs and different possibilities. Been very aware of this recently, especially the impact it has on my happiness. Of course having long term goals is important, but I really do think that sometimes you just need to think about the now. Enjoy what you have and where you are NOW, not what you will have or what you'll feel like when you've achieved a certain 'dream body' or once you've made a certain amount of money. I'm going to keep making decisions which will help me towards my goals, but not get lost in process. I'd encourage you to do the same โ™ฅ๏ธ

Contrasting to my own techniques (see my progress is the previous post), where I used just regular calorie control and low calorie swaps. Just like we both took different approaches, we find the best protocol that suits you. As long as you apply a few core principles which we teach over the 6 weeks there's no reason you can't transform your own physique.

Sure we can get results ourselves, that's one thing.. but can we get other people results? I'll be posting the results from the participants over the next few days to prove that we can.
