A distant 2nd at Huddersfield #parkrun this morning.
Happy with the time although it would be nice to focus some effort on knocking that 20-30s off on a regular basis but White Rose Ultra is just 2 weeks away so that will have to wait.
Good to get the legs turning over faster though although I think my lungs may have caught fire towards the end!
One more solid week of mileage next week then an easy one before seeing if I get round the 30 mile route in my target time.

Absolutely gutted to be dropping out of the Castles Half Marathon tomorrow... 😦
Long story short, I was doing a strength session on Monday and my lower back completely went after a deadlift.
I don't know if it was my form or something else but I was feeling a very slight pain in my back the week after the marathon when I was resting so I'm thinking doing the deadlift has escalated it.
I did 5k on Wednesday but it's no better, so as much as I think I could run through the pain tomorrow, in the long run I don't think it'll be worth it. I've done no running since Wednesday so hopefully in another couple of days I'll be getting better, I've definitely been improving since it happened so fingers crossed!
Gutted about this set back but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that!

Finally broke my 3 year old Park Run PB.
Shows that my consistent training is paying off & starting to see the results. Heavy week of training & a busy week means I haven’t been able to post!
A windy day & slightly muddy course from the overnight rain might even mean I can run even quicker 🙊
3 days till I fly to Australia for a little adventure & cant wait to try out the Park Runs over there! 🏃🏽♀️
I was ready to give in after 1min 38! Everything was hurting! My sports bra was not doing the supportive role that it should have been doing ( it’s now in the bin and retired!)
Struggled on to mile 2, felt like I’d ran 10 miles😩
My diet this week has been horrendous and I haven’t ran since Monday so it just goes to show how important diet is 🤦🏼♀️( you’d think I’d learn)
I pushed myself to do 1.5 miles of hill reps just to push the mileage a bit and get me past the 3 mile wall that I always seem to hit 🤣
From then on, my legs were working, my lungs were doing what they should be and my head was focussed 😃👍🏻 I had 3 things going round my head .... “Don’t listen to the first mile, it’s a liar!”✅True

Went out with the endurance store trail club this morning for a five mile muddy run as a start to the birthday. Weather wasn't too bad so not sure when this storms hitting. Went with the 'beginners' group but struggled to keep up! Thought I hadn't been doing too badly up until now. 3.5 miles with our amazing beginners this morning. This is a course I did about 5 years ago now. ..and it changed my life. Running is now such a big part of who I am!

That is the best I have felt in a LONG time! I felt comfortable the whole way round and averaged 7.08 min miles! Still a whole two minutes off my 5k PB, but I’m definitely heading in the right direction!
I know everyone says it, but seeing progress really is the best motivation! 💪🏻
