A little late to #MedalMonday 🏅- my chip time at #ValenciaMarathon was adjusted by 2 seconds in my favour to give me a 4 second PB 😍 Hopefully I can take some time off that at #LondonMarathon2018 😎 Recovery Run this morning hurt like hell, but should flush the legs a little 😟. Very excited that @callumrhawkins, @gomofarah & a full squad of #HackneyRats will be taking on the @officialbighalf in March 2018. We go again...

Finally ran all the way to work and to treat myself I ran via Paddington where I knew there’d be free Muller! And my dodgy stomach had the decency to hold out until I ran right past the loos by Serpentine. Huzzah
Day 2 @manchestermarathon training and hill r, r, repeats x3. 2 miles warm up, hit the hill hard 6 minute miles, 1 mile back. Hard work and even though the third one was brutal it gave me 3rd overall on a strava segment and negative splits overall...Result 👍🏻 deceptively mild today and I loved it. Keep climbing instafriends, the view from the top is awesome!! Have a great day; run strong; run happy and keep inspiring. No regrets. #runner#running#run#runners#hills#hillrepeats#marathontraining#manchestermarathon#noregrets#strava#believe
We like the idea that there's a secret run club happening every evening that we're all a part of, all over the world, we just haven't met each other yet. This heart aching shot from @danihafner taken on her run in Cali leaves us desperate to find the positives at this time of year in a grey chilly London! #runcalifornia#yesplease#runtheworld
Marathon Training Day 1
Really slow 5 Miles, running an average of 10 min miles. Plan said slower, but it is throwing it down out there and I wanted to get home. Feeling good but soaked to my skin. Now to get on with the day. Day clinic at the hospital today for chemo top up and a general check up for my little fighter #6amclub
Perfect way to lead into race week with a long run exploring London yesterday. Looking back over the last 3 months, it hasn’t been the most motivated or smoothest prep for a race but it’s nearly here and the pre-race nerves are starting to kick in. After a good chat with @emma_quinn_88 last week, we’ve decided after #florencemarathon I’ll be taking a break from training to recoup while I finish off this European adventure. The plan is to get back to Aus next year with a fresh mind and body to tackle anything and everything 💪🏻 now it’s time to get my head and body right for this Sunday 🤙🏻
From struggling to do everyday activities to running a friggin marathon (and doing it for a great cause). Mike has such an inspiring story, and he's only getting started. 🙌🏾💪🏾👊🏾⠀
"It's been a long while since I put up a before and after pic, so here goes! This, to me, is the ultimate before and after! I used to be 18 stone, I got out of breath doing up my shoe laces! One day something clicked and I had to do something about it! I started to work out and eat healthily and the weight started to fall off! I felt great and enjoyed exercise for the first time in my life! Then in 2016 I lost my mum suddenly to Ovarian Cancer! I set myself the challenge of running the London Marathon and I did just that! Raising money for @ovariancanceraction. ⠀
So, believe me, you can achieve whatever you want to achieve when you set your mind to it!! #weightlossjourney#weightlossinspiration#fattofit#mensweightloss#mensfitness#weightlossmotivation#marathon#londonmarathon#menshealth#mensbodies#running#ukrunning#beforeandafter#fatloss#diet

Happy Monday !!! How do you like to start your week. I like to start the week with a healthy and nutritional breakfast. The breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and your first opportunity to fuel your body with the correct nutrition. Nothing better than @roonutrition berries smoothie to give us the boost that we really need. The great of @roonutrition is the fact that it is only 2 ingredients, grass feed, organic whey protein and himalayan pink salt. I definitely like the unflavoured whey, I can use to make delicious savoury or even sweet and healthy pancakes, cakes and smoothies.
I love it and I recommend . .
We don’t meet new people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.
I have said before that one of the best parts about coaching are the friendships I have gained. I truly feel that this coaching gig came into my life for different reasons and one is the friendships. -
True friendships where we support each other through ups and downs, not just when things are good.
We truly want what is best for each other!
I will be forever grateful for this opportunity as I have learned what friendships are and have began to heal from past friendships I tried so hard to keep fighting for that just weren’t meant to be.
I now know who my tribe is and I wouldn’t change a thing! Well except for us all to live 5 minutes from each other!!
Sometimes whilst I’m racing I really appreciate the support from spectators and marshalls, their claps, waves and cheers give me a boost when the going is tough.
Had fantastic support from @laurawatts44 and Hugo, took a moment after lap 1 to high-five my niece even though it gave my competition an advantage 🤚🏼
🗻Cairngorm Mountain Squad 🗻
Yomping with me yesterday was legendary #adventurerunner Simon Clark, a bonafide hero of mine who over the past year has become a dear friend. Simon and I passed each other in Carmarthen by complete chance (I fan-boyed him in the street) last August while he was running anti-clockwise around the coast of Great Britain (the opposite direction to me). We exchanged numbers and stayed in touch. When he got round to Brighton last winter I put him up and he agreed to return the favour once I made it up to the highlands.
I stayed with Simon at his flat near Forres the night before last. He introduced me to the enchanting and unique community of #findhorn and the following morning decided to dust off his trusty ultra pack (for the first time since his 5000 mile challenge finished 4 months ago) and join me for a day in the mountains. It was tough going at times; the conditions in the Cairngorms at this time of year can be harsh and the terrain was very demanding, but despite the odd veer off the path accompanied by an occasional un-dashing slip on the ice it was just so great to be out in the greatest of great outdoors, adventuring together. He's an inspiration to me and probably the main reason I now feel compelled to #run sections of my route. .
Simon invited his friend Rachel along too, who's sharp trail-spotting instincts proved invaluable as the darkness, snow and biting cold set in last night as we searched for a bothy to sleep in. Which we did (thankfully). What a squad. First class expeditioning 💙
Round three of the South Yorkshire Cross Country league today at Penistone Showground. Good to see @runningyorkshiremen and thanks @doncaster.runner for the photo! .
Cracking race and definitely an improvement on round 1 as only 30secs of my time from last year. Still work to be done though........
Marathon number 8, and a PB...just. Squeaked home 2️⃣h 4️⃣9️⃣m 2️⃣6️⃣s to take 2 seconds off my PB - they all count. Had an impromptu toilet stop at 26km that cost me a minute or two, but it gave me the drive to push on and I did the last 10km in sub 37 mins. Valencia is a great marathon 😻🇪🇸. Fast and ridiculously flat. Tekkers to the handsome man in the photo @christopherjamesbirch who took 23 minutes off his PB today 🙀. Looking forward to lots of 🍻and rest.
A much needed head clearer to start the day. Slow and steady through the hills, with the frost under foot and the cold chill in the air.
It’s like having a baby in the house again at the moment, as the 2yr old wakes up a few times in the night and just needs to be comforted. Chemotherapy is all consuming for all four of us, but we are getting through. Little bear is a fighter, she is fighting lions right now and winning!
As I was looking at my phone a reminder popped up that marathon training starts next week!!!!! Next week??? Next week!!!! I have chosen a longer programme with three runs a week, so I am not missing runs if we happen to be in hospital. Going to mix in HIIT where I have time, aiming for one a week and would love to find a Pilates programme too. I am getting round that course at Manchester!
