1958 Universal Genève Polerouter with beautiful brown dial and gilt print and crosshair.
The Polerouter was created in 1954 to celebrate the first polar-route, by Scandinavian airlines, flying from Copenhagen to Los Angeles over the North Pole, shortening the journey by thousands of miles and several hours. The trip took a full 24 hours back then, on a four propeller Douglas DC-6 airplane with about 70 seats.
This silver tropicalized Polerouter Date just arrived and I must admit it looks gorgeous. Fully original including crystal with trapezoidal magnifier, signed crown, signed caseback and signed Microrotor movement! Love the looks of these twisted lugs designs...DM for inquiries folks!
Something a little different for Sunday. Channeling my inner "company man" with this rare YG 35mm screwback Patek Phillipe Calatrava, with a beautifully decorated and freshly serviced 27SC movement. This one was the property of William Ellis Meehan, former FBI agent. Also, according to his obituary, "From 1963 to 1965 he served as chief investigator for the Senate Rules Committee checking into the conflict of interest questions that centered on former Senate majority secretary Robert G. "Bobby" Baker."
NOS panda dial Certina Argonaut Chrono. Certina branded Valjoux 23 inside. Sharp cushion case and original bracelet. Love the perfect lume and red accents on this one. So much eye-catching wrist presence for less than 2k. Available at the shop.
Sharing my UG cal. 263 Sugarbowl watch again along with @livingstonsatnight 's pictures. Hoping we can find other watches from the same game. One was dedicated to R. Lemieux and the other to C. Hankins. If anyone had any information on these watches please share.
1112: I've already bid farewell to Nova Scotia, but not before drawing one last travel watch inspired by UG and Nomos. In a couple hours I'll be jetting over the Atlantic to a new world (that happens to be pretty darn old). Next post will come direct from England!
