Decal Medium #73 .212
Decal Medium It improves the adherence of the decal and prevents the formation of air bubbles. It also acts as a cleaner and helps prepare the surface of the model before applying the decal. Before placing the decal, first apply Decal Medium with a brush on the surface of the model and then slide de decal from the paper to the surface; next apply Decal Medium over the decal and press down lightly with a finger or humid cloth to eliminate excess liquid. Decal Medium contains alcohol, and is therefore flammable, but it is neither toxic nor irritating.
Decal Fix #73 .213
Decal Fix is a mat, water-based solution which protects the decal and smoothes its edges so that they blend with the surface of the model, and raised outline will not be visible. Apply Decal Fix with a soft brush and allow to dry. Various layers can be applied. The product contains acrylic resin and is neither flammable nor toxic. The application of a final varnish, if desired, will not disturb the decal.

I have spent quite a bit of time at the Ameca Municipal Cemetery in Jalisco, Mexico. As a child, the cemetery was such a wonderful and mysterious place. The cemetery was filled with old sinking tombs, mausoleums, and was engulfed in a never-ending sea of white crosses and statues. There are 5 generations of family members put to rest here. While the adults visited, prayed, lit candles and arranged flowers for family members who have passed, I would wander the rows of tombs in awe with my cousins.
As a teen, I remember hiding from my cousins, drawing or reading on a bench and being too scared to wander on my own. In part, I was jaded by the ghost stories told by my father. As I grew older, so did my appreciation for this place. My walks through the cemetery now included a sketchbook and a camera in hand, aiming at capturing the ongoing changes occurring in the cemetery. Some of the tombs were so old, that you could see the many different layers of colors the tombs were once painted. Some of the tombs were covered with tiles and others adorned with synthetic flowers and wreaths. Even after death, the remnants of lives once lived are kept alive by relatives through the maintenance and appearance of the tombs. These upkeeps were reflections of the individual’s personality and social class.
With my work, I hope to ignite the appreciation in others regarding spaces and places like old cemeteries as a metaphor for a collective memory of our past and our ever-changing future of all things affected by time that may some day cease to exist. As an artist, I work hard to develop paintings that speak of a honoring found beauty in unexpected places. — @714jackie
