I had the opportunity to go to my first ever veg fest that was actually pretty cool. I did have a problem with telling if someone was vegan, vegetarian or just a curious meat eater but the food was delicious, especially this kebab! I was one of the last one's that got one, so it was quite sad to see some people not trying this heavenly piece of perfection.
The only bad part is that not everything was vegan and I don't mean that they had both options... some had no vegan options which was quite sad for me. But I did get some chocolate tofu cake, two brownies, Russian pierogis made vegan, a big pierogi with sauerkraut and mushrooms, a potato on a stick fried in coconut oil and pb ice cream and some kind of fake meat.
I am excited that I went, especially that even my dad enjoyed the food. One thing that surprised me was that he could tell who was plant based just by looking at their faces and clothes. I hadn't known you could tell but at least he knows I'm not the only 'dummy' out there 😂
I hope I can attend a different festival some time in the future. This one was so good that I'm literally broke. But I do think it was all worth every penny. And the stressful drive around a big city. The last time I drove in a big city it was Chicago and Indianapolis but I had an automatic car. Yay for manual and being a novice driver!
With 10 mins till last orders I'm sure the waiting staff @wearezizzi were less than pleased at our impromptu date night last night - yep Monday night, date night cos, why not?! 😜 so with no time to ponder the few vegan options on the menu we order the new vegan Zucca and Pepperonata pizzas on classic bases and a side of lentil ragu cos well I love lentil 😜• The mild flavoured (nothing a bit of black pepper wouldn't fix) Zucca boasts roasted butternut squash on a bed of caramelised balsamic onions, and topped spinach was disappointingly smothered in creamy coconut oil based mozzarella - zizzi's alternative cheese. Now anyone who knows me will know I'm not a creamy sauce kinda person the cheese while looking mozzarella like misses that stringy quality cheese has, but you know what they say about beggars and choosing right, so I didn't complain (much) • The rich and spicy pepperonata blows zucca's strange combination of sweet and cream out the window for me! With a slight kick of spice and packed full of tomatoes this bad boi would be my option next time round for sure • The other half of the Berry made light work of his second dinner pizzas #dontjudge#growingvegan - we shared half of each pizza after my subtle - not so subtle 🙃disappointment at my creamy dish (again! - see pervious post - how do I keep managing to do this to myself?) All in all @wearezizzi is a great mainstream chain to pop into on the spear of the moment and grab a meal - could it be more spicy 🌶 Yh sure, but simply request some chilli oil right? Well done @wearezizzi cos vegans need spare of the moment vegan options too. #impressed
My #vegancheatmeal of the week! 😋 I just had these Asian noodles with zucchini, carrots, onion, green pepper, broccoli and mushrooms! 💚 I used olive oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds to cook it and it was DELICIOUS 😍
Good morning everyone😊
I'm back with some food! But what?! No oats?!
Oh yes I had oats this morning but the lighting in my house is so bad that I can't share this quality😂 so I thought why not showing this amazing falafel wrap😏
I had this one a few days ago in our school in the lunchtime🙆
It's a durum wrap with some hot sauce, falafel, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, ree cabbage and grilled veggies😍
Maybe it's kind if an inspiration for some breakfast wrap haha😂
Have a great day and start your Monday right💪
Decided to give myself an unhealthy comfort meal for lunch after spotting Tofutti's "Better Than Sour Cream" (its amazing, a bit like the "Better Than Cream Cheese") Steamed rosemary potato with nuttelex, white pepper, pink himilayan sea salt, Tofutti vegan sour cream, and home grown spring onion 😍👌 #delicious#VeganFoodPorn#VeganCheatMeal#VeganLoadedSpuds#Tofutti
Good evening lovely people🙋
It's fall... what does that mean? No bikinis but more chocolate💪
THESE ARE LITERALLY THE BEST BROWNIES I'VE EVER EATEN!😂😍
I made them some time ago when my friend celebrated her birthday🤗 and right now I'm dreaming of them haha😂 so I thought it would be the perfect moment to share the recipe with you guys🤗
Please try it out you won't regret your decision😏 and the best thing is that they're super easy... so let's go🙈
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Then combine the dry ingredients in a big bowl: 220g spelt flour, 280-300g sugar, 85g cacao powder, 1 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. baking powder.
Combine in a separate bowl:
240ml milk (I used oat milk), 200g melted coconut oil and 1tsp. vanilla extract(or a little bit of a vanilla pod)
Then add the wet ingredients step by step to the dry ones and you'll get a nice chocolatey and thick dough😍😏 Put it into the oven for about 25-30 minutes (it depends on your oven and on how fudgy you like them😊)
Let them cool down and enjoy!
Have a great day💕❤
